Good new for us we sold our house! No more opens, but I have to start seriously packing! No news on the new home front. Nothing much is happening apart from painting. Painting is due to finish next week and titling week after. So I wont bore you with any more updates unless something major happens. Spoke with the SS today and he said we can have a walk through at the end of next week. Hopefully the splash back and under the stairs are finished. Happy building Everyone... see you in a week or two! Sorry I have been slack! A bit has gone on since the last post. The painting is finished.... And well we are a little nervous. It looks a bit greyer than we thought . At first I though the colour was wrong, but when we took the sample down from the Boucher it's right. It's just over a larger surface it looks darker. I am hoping once the lighting is in and titling that it all will come together a bit better. (I'll up load some photos a bit later). Tiling has started but I haven't seen it yet! cinquain Loving your black and white kitchen! And so excited that you have sold your house, can imagine what a relief that must be Looking great, not long to go now!! Thanks Cinquain it is a relief and now I can start packing! All along our SS has been confidant that his house don't run late and too allow an extra few weeks in settlement when selling our house would be enough time for our build to be ready and move in. Well no sooner than we sold our house, surprise surprise they will not meet that time frame they have given us all along . Now it's going to be tight to even have it finished by the time we settle! We asked for the worst case scenario when the house could be finished! It's not like we have jumped the gun or pressured them to have finished early...we where happen to work in with them!!! So now we will have to wait a few more weeks to see if we will be moving twice! We have a new SS! With what I thought was only 6 weeks to go they have replaced my SS. So now we get to learn a new personality, and hope all the items we were in discussion with our old SS, our new one will do! And finally (and yes sorry more grumbles) somone has taken the protective film off our high gloss back cupboards! (I think it was the painters). And Guess what... You'll never guess ... they are scratched! I've been told that they can be order and replaced. And if we are ready for handover and they are not fixed or replaced we can just sign an agreement and get it done at later date! Yep cos I have spent all that money on the cupboards to move in with scratches on them! I hope everyone's builds have been moving along problem free! Happy building everyone and I will post some pictures of the paint work soon! Kitchen looks amazing. It's really nice to have a sink looking out a window. I wouldn't worry about cleaning the high gloss cabinetry. It won't be too bad. Is your splashback white on starfire glass? I can really see it working well here. Shame about the move in date. Moving twice would be soo annoying!! I hope that doesn't happen. I have not been able to see it, as the house is locked most if the time. We have awing windows so there is no breaking for us! Do you like the paint? It was meant to be a shade darker than white. Do you think it is? Mirrors and showers have been installed. I think there have been a few problems with the splash back so we are still waiting on that. Plumbing is complete, as is heating and cooling. They have completed some electrical, but not all of it and defiantly none on the outside. So what's left.... carpet, fly screens, security doors and locks, driveway, clean, stairs - finished and stained that might be about it.... no idea of a date yet, hopefully I will get a better idea in a few weeks! I am starting to think too that the color may grow on us. The carpet has been laid and we brought an off cut home to compare it to our grey feature wall and it looks ok.
