The build has gone slowly, but the work is pretty good. I had a meeting with the building manager this morning to rectify a mis-communication that occurred back in prestart, with the construction of my microwave stack. Long story short he is organising a meeting with myself and the cabinet maker to have it constructed the way I had always wanted. Build quality is very good and I am happy. I have a copy of my plans both original and changed on the first page of my build topic My Build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64881 Re: Mum and my build with Aveling Homes in Byford 13Jul 30, 2014 9:39 pm hi there, I'm also building with aveling just outside byford in cardup. Or is that normal? I'm so over it I'm beginning to wish I hadn't decided to build Signed with - Aveling Homes, 28/2/14 Consultant - Brendan Wekeem (Now works for Plunkett homes) Purchased land - Byford, 28/2/14 Signed Contracts - 28/5/14 Pre-start - 1/7/14 Re: Mum and my build with Aveling Homes in Byford 17Aug 13, 2014 2:23 am We had a brickie shortage during our building plus the christmas and New year break. Once they started though, the walls and roof went up pretty quick. Good luck and Don' t let it get you down too much it will be worth it in the end. My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Re: Mum and my build with Aveling Homes in Byford 19Aug 13, 2014 4:30 pm Hi Tracey17 Still no contracts for us... We were told it would take around 3 months so that would mean we should have them by the end of this week. Am I right in assuming you do pre start after you have contracts signed and (finance) approved? Re: Mum and my build with Aveling Homes in Byford 20Aug 13, 2014 5:44 pm Yes. Then any changes made at prestart are as a variation. My build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68002 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17602 3 48390 Ask for references and speak to them.
