Browse Forums Kitchen Corner how much would you spend on a fridge? 22Jul 10, 2014 4:55 pm It's all up to your choice and affordability. Toyota and Maserati both make cars, and I like both. If I can't afford Maserati, I won't be able to advise someone to wether to buy one or not. Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 23Jul 11, 2014 10:49 pm Heres another way of looking at it. If your kicthen build was 500k, a sub-zero fridge would fell right at home. However if the house build was 500k, I'd be at a loss to justify a fridge for that much. Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 24Jul 11, 2014 10:59 pm deluxes If you really want one, again... as people have said, we all have our "things" that maybe someone else wouldn't dream of spending the same money on. The amount of $$$ I wasted on cars in my late teens up to a few years ago... we'll lets just say I could get quite a few $28k fridges and have been told numerous times I was insane. Houses and mortgages calmed down that little vice however! Normal, boring cars now It must be a super dooper fridge though. I should look it up Omg deluxes.. I bought a brand new VW Beetle with every single bell and whistle.. On a $40K package! Crazy times they were LOL that was nearly 10yrs ago. Great point too comfortablywacky.. Must look up both options from LG and Samsung.. Was hoping Samsung would go down in price the last year, but I think they used it in House Rules so definitely won't go down anytime soon with all the publicity. --- Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 25Jul 12, 2014 10:12 am we are having high end cooktops and ovens in the kitchen. Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 26Jul 12, 2014 10:16 am Sub-zero comes under the umbrella of the company that makes Viking cooking ranges. 0-200'c in few seconds! Check them out if you haven't already Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 27Jul 13, 2014 10:31 pm When I'm bored I like to go into the kitchen and bathroom section . I saw you on here and thought let's see what cupcakes is up too . $28,000 on a fridge . We'll each to there own some friends of mine can't justify a $1000 sink or a $700 tap . Now for the fridge I wouldn't spend more than $3000 . There were he days when things lasted that long . Tou have a lot of wow things in your kitchen so maybe just a normal fridge might do . But it is your kitchen . Your money at the end of the day we are here just to give our opinion . Have you got a picture of the inside of the fridge . Good luck. Xx Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 28Jul 13, 2014 10:46 pm I think it's your money and therefore your decision. Personally though I wouldn't spend that much on a fridge (but you should see how much we spend on cars so each to their own) I hear you re the high end appliances I spent over $20k on v-zug combi steams Teppanyaki grills etc but I prefer to get my food in organic frequently and often - in my kitchen we wil still have the large French door fridge (although I am hoping to mainly use it for drinks) and my main fruit and veg fridge will be a cool draw - but again at the end of the day everyone uses their kitchen and appliances differently and it is completly up to you <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 29Jul 14, 2014 10:44 am hi AKB we are getting two of the V-zug combi and their top oven and their warming drawer. we are having the Wolf gas hotplate. for the rangehood a custom made qasair. I love cooking with the combi it does the best cheese on toast !!! http://i812.photobucket.com/albums/zz47/sharonross13/kitchenoven3_zps473ac45a.png Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 31Jul 15, 2014 9:12 pm I will see how much money I have left at the end Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 32Jul 16, 2014 1:47 am comfortablywacky Heres another way of looking at it. I balked at just over 4 grand that I paid for mine !! Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 33Jul 16, 2014 2:05 am I guess its all down to what floats your boat. I really want a wide pivot door and for that it costs a shade under 10K. Velux ceiling windows are no bargain either and don't get me started on white macubus bench tops..... If you love cooking, which clearly you do, go for it. The kitchen is going to be a focal point so why not.... I hear you on "see how much $$$ is left" Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 34Jul 16, 2014 7:08 am I couldn't justify spending that on an appliance - but if it rocks your boat and if you can afford it then go for it! I think I agree with EmyN - you've really already made up your mind? Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 35Jul 16, 2014 8:20 pm AussieMark I guess its all down to what floats your boat. I haven't ordered the cool draw, the zip tap or the rangehood yet. For the rangehood I've fallen in love with the Klasse Paradigma Schweizen. Can't wait to see your kitchen when its finished. <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 39Jul 17, 2014 5:47 pm kyton For that amount of money I would be looking into building a coolroom instead of a fridge. Re: how much would you spend on a fridge? 40Jul 18, 2014 4:51 pm Hey cupcakes. I think people spend a small fortune on things that I just don't understand. The fridge though, wow! If you can afford it go for it. A pool can cost twice that and hardly get any use! Other things in life can cost a fortune too, like cars. If you love it and it's affordable for you, go for it. Can't wait to see yours and AKB' s kitchens. They sound amazing. Bought in Nov 21 at the height of the market (classic). Good area, atrocious floor plan.
