I knew everyone would like that colour. It has such a warming and calming effect. Home Angels, we move on wednesday which is terrifying because we haven't finished the painting. We're struggling through it and it will be finished but averagely. Builder came by today to check in on us and was like 'hmm those doors will need another coat' and I just looked at him and I was like...they'll be fine for you to put the locks on right? I think he got the hint. If things aren't completely finished then we can touch up after we move. We're just so exhausted by this point that just getting it done at all is a mammoth effort. You'll have to take some photos of your oven christening! I love the paint colours also - they are both def something I would have in a home, lovely and warm Build thread http://tinyurl.com/llgc7yk Re: Custom Build (Armidale): Carpet and paint 204Jun 15, 2014 8:49 pm Wednesday!? Eeek! Good luck with the move. I'm exhausted just thinking about having to paint! Whaaaat..... Today the electricians came again but didn't finish. As the were leaving I was like we're moving on wednesday remember and they were like yeah we have plenty of time! They had better get it done, that's all I can say. The concreters came and formed the driveway up but didn't pour so our driveway is getting poured the day before we move. It's all just come to a head and it's like haemorrhaging right at the end with everyone trying to finish everything. Even us! We're very close to being finished. One more cutting in bit in the hallway and cutting in in the bathrooms and we're done but I really wanted to be finished by now. We're so tired now so we're not as productive as we have been. Not as packed as we should be. Blergh. All the electricians were working and getting in and out while there was a bloke with a bobcat out the front moving dirt around, meanwhile they're stepping over me sitting in the middle of the hallway painting. Definitely felt like I was on the block, just before the big reveal! We bought a rug today for the living room so that was kind of exciting, just thinking about being able to lay it down on the nice clean concrete and settle in front of the heater watching tv...not having to leave the warm room to go to a kitchen that's 5 degrees colder just to stir dinner. It's just going to be magic. I am hoping the electricians will come early and leave just as early so I can get up all the drop sheets and have a bit of a sweep and a clean and everything. Then maybe I can take some pictures for you all. I'm really liking the colours I picked. Hubby still isn't sure about them but I think they're growing on him a bit. The bathroom does look a little cold in it's pale bluey green but I'm positive once I get some bright, warm accessories it will really pick up. In the mean time it's a beautifully subtle colour, can't wait to show you all. Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: Custom Build (Armidale): Carpet and paint 213Jun 25, 2014 10:05 pm Hi EmyN I only have net on my phone and haven't had a lot if time to check in. We moved in last weeks pretty smoothly. The painting got done even though we cut a few corners and we'll have to do some touching up. It's all gone off without a hitch really. Only problem with the house so far is that some of the doors needs to go up a bit because they don't quite make it into the latches, you just have to lift them slightly when you close then. We've put in shelving in the linen closet and laundry/pantry and hanging rods in the master wardrobe. The fence is going up and should be finished tomorrow so we'll be able to let the dog out in the yard finally! Don't get me started on trying to get money for it from either neighbours, that's a post for another time. We're still moving in and have lots left to do so I don't have pictures yet but our nbn is meant to be installed next week and we should be ready by then to take some piccies for you all. The best thing is how warm the house is, considering how cold it's been outside. It's incredibly comfortable. I love having a gas cooker and a good oven and a dishwasher SO MUCH. It's been ages since I posted. We only got our nbn connected today *rolls eyes*, long story short, we had group after group of people fixing everyone else's mistakes. Finally though, we have connection, hooray! I guess I will start where I left. We're definitely settling in. Most of the boxes are unpacked thank god. Only think is I have too much junk and I cant bare parting with half of it even if it's stupid stuff. I currently have a duck and a cat beanie baby sitting on my desk. Like I got those when I was like 15 and all they've every done is sit there but do you think I can throw them out? One day. We almost did go insane Home Angels and when it was connected yesterday I just about cried. Things left to do are some touching up in places and obviously the yard which is a nightmare and I don't know where to start. We got a truckload of mulch delivered so we'll just spread that at the back of the house to at least cut down on all the dirt we walk in back and forwards from the clothesline.
