Can't believe we've paid off $10k since December, it's amazing what you can accomplish. Saw they put fly screens on today but that's about it. Bring on final inspectionnn. If you can notice it isn't square, it will annoy you forever and it's an expensive item. If they sand it and let air in, make them resolve it, again and again till they are satisfied. Honestly, they ruined the door. They cut too much on one side. Or at least get refunded what you paid for the door. It's a major feature point of your house. Getting JC to take a picture of it now so I can post here, not sure if im being too fussy or not. Our SS said that's just how it is and they could bolt it flat but in a few months it would pop out again. Not quite sure what "door standard" is lol... Will post pic as soon as he sends it to me Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo Build - PCI Complete 784Jun 13, 2014 5:56 pm ... Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo Build - FrontDoor Internal - Thoug 786Jun 13, 2014 8:55 pm MMmmmm What to say!!! "It's not right" "it looks like I put them on" in the end it looks unprofessional Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo Build - FrontDoor Internal - Thoug 787Jun 13, 2014 9:44 pm So JC has just updated me and said these are older photos and they have the weather seal on them now but he couldn't get in today for photos. Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo Build - FrontDoor Internal - Thoug 788Jun 13, 2014 10:33 pm Good pick. iv moved in my house .and there things that i never picked up . And i guess its not till you move in and you clean that you pick up other things. I think its worth making them fix it . Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo Build - FrontDoor Internal - Thoug 789Jun 14, 2014 12:19 am Doesn't look "quite right" does it? If you push harder do you think you will get a result? Hope it works out for you Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66620 Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo Build - FrontDoor Internal - Thoug 790Jun 14, 2014 3:34 am Hi - just a random popping in to say hi.. Definitely push them to fix your door. Mine has always been an issue from the day i moved in and i just accepted the builders "nothing we can do" attitude. Every time it gets windy i end up with sand blowing underneath/through the side. If it rains and it's windy water comes through the door. It's actually slightly warped a couple of the floor boards that are in front of the door. As it never sat right in the frame it used to stick badly in winter and has scraped marks into the side of the door and the frame. Recently had the builder out to do some warranty work for a water leak, and their maintenance guy took it upon himself to sort out the front door that was sticking each time he came in and out. Not sure what exactly he did as i was in the other room (smacked the crap out of something with a hammer and screwdriver by the sounds of it). Since he did that though it sits squarer in the frame and no longer sticks/rubs! Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo Build - FrontDoor Internal - Thoug 791Jun 15, 2014 8:35 pm Looks atrocious, make them fix it, it's a joke. If we didn't raise it at PCI is it too late? Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo Build - FrontDoor Internal - Thoug 793Jun 16, 2014 1:53 pm Nope, I raised so many things after handover. So if we raise it again at our final inspection will it delay handover until its fixed? Im annoyed since it was the first thing we raised at PCI and he was like theres nothing that can be done its just how it is... but we were a bit chicken sh!t at the start I think haha. My friend who built with Good life had a damaged colorbond fence panel from the final site clean. They literally waved the keys in front of her face because it was a week before the xmas shut down and they knew MOST people would want those keys and would just put up with the panel to get them. The house was an investment property so she didn't need to move in she made them fix it and they did (after the xmas break of course) don't let it go make sure you push! Re: Goodlife/Gemmil Bravo Build - FrontDoor Internal - Thoug 798Jun 18, 2014 10:08 am So the bank has done our valuation and our cheque is ready to pick up today which is great, so speedy. Now we will hold on to that little (large) cheque till final inspection and handover. I hope it comes quickly!!! I removed the photos of the doors because they don't look like that at the moment, trying to JC to go there this morning when some trades might be there so he can take another pic. Just want our house now, over paying rent and part mortgage. JC went in to collect it, they said it had already been sent electronically. Commence me being 1 second away from flipout since we haven't had final inspection yet. JC was sent away from the bank. I called progress payments department, they called Mandurah Bank, she then said no the cheque is literally sitting there waiting for you. I told JC to go back, and miraculously it was there. Some staff are just so stupid. /endrant Now we wait for handover date Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Hi, as per the subject. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck? Thanks 0 10971 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair That laser level looks lovely! We bought one for less than a quarter of that price off eBay.
