With powerpoints! 15Oct 20, 2008 7:15 am cyclone Where do you intend to install the c-bus switchboard ? Is that where all the wiring has to go back to? We haven't made our minds up about c-bus yet (about to go get a quote)...but at a guess...either in the garage or in the store room under the staircase...? Does it make a big difference? I hadnt really thought about it to be honest! Re: Lighting plan...attempt number 2! With powerpoints! 16Oct 20, 2008 7:27 am Hi BuildingACT,
I personally think you can never have too many powerpoints. But even I have to say, that is a LOT of powerpoints! I am having 2 in each bedroom (except 3 in master), 2 in garage, 2 in bathrooms, just to give you an idea. (That's 2 doubles.) Lots in kitchen is good Good luck with the rationalisation! I just took another look and I think you might be right - it looks like anywhere i've seen a wall i've put a powerpoint! haha I think a p'point rationalisation is going to have to accompany the light one Re: Lighting plan...attempt number 2! With powerpoints! 19Oct 20, 2008 8:25 am Re the powerpoints.... I also love powerpoints but even I was .
I am putting quads wherever there will be a TV and doubles everywhere else. But I am putting three doubles in each bedroom.... in the event there will be a queen size bed. One for each dressing table and one other. The pp on the island bench I'm asssuming is for a dishwasher, I'd put another one on the end of the island for appliances (blender etc). Put an extra one in the laundry, for iron, dustbuster, etc. I wouldn't bother with singles (except for dishwasher, microwave, etc) the cost up to doubles is minimal so doubles are the way to go. Another exception for a single.... if you get flies and insects where you are, put a single up high somewhere in the alfresco for a bug zapper. Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Lighting plan...attempt number 2! With powerpoints! 20Oct 20, 2008 6:49 pm Thanks very much for the comments guys!! I'm slowly getting there with my powerpoint rationalisation! haha although, every time i go to reduce the number of lights, I somehow seem to end up with more!!
Joles - apart from the microwave, d'washer etc I'm not planning on putting any singles anywhere I don't think...although, here in Canberra, bug can definitely be a problem, so I'll have to remember the bug zapper!! I think three in each bedroom (like you said, for sidetables plus one other) is plenty...and i'm sure I can cut down on a few in other areas...I guess I just still have in mind the comments you always hear saying "work out how many powerpoints you need...then double it!!" And since we're owner building and really making it up as we go, it's tough!! Anyway, thanks again for all the comments...
