My roof tiles are on - pagdia Tiles nice! Thanks for update on your friend with NBN. I just got off the phone with NBN co, they basically said they have a Stage 2 Registered, but don't have lot numbers. The only lot numbers they can provision a service too are in the 200's and 300's. Me being in the 500's got a little annoyed by this. I managed to get onto one of the engineers at CIC, and he basically said that they have provided the paperwork to NBNco, but its a matter of them actioning this to say that a service is available. He said he will try find out some more for me about how I can order a service (last i heard the time from ordering a service to getting the box in your house is 8 weeks - others may have heard different). Either way i'll keep you all updated with anything else I find out! Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1463May 29, 2014 5:37 pm uncyspam googonga I assumed the same thing. I think it was mr2sht? who said he checked his pit and also saw no NBN cable. I'm will need to flick through the contract and see what the provisions for communications are. Telstra has a USO obligation for telephones, but i don't remember anything NBN specific in the contract. Either way, i'll chase up on CIC and NBN, as we hope to be in in the next 8-12 weeks, and well I don't not want internet =]. The last call I gave to CIC & NBN regarding this I got told I'd be called back by both and a month later still nothing. I'll update if I get any info tommorrow. I posted the link a while back for the legislation that says NBN will be how all new developments will receive phone and internet services. It's simply not possible for them to provide us anything else, if it's not ready for some reason, that's a different issue, and one that will cause me to scream fairly loudly if it's not. I think it's not really ready, also i can't find your post about the legislation, but if you mean the USO provision under the telecommunications act that means telstra needs to provide a phone service, apparently a 3g tower meets this obligation - which googong has. I was surprised to find that Australia doesn't have legislation that all homes should have broadband at a minimum speed - considering the way we live today and the whole push for e-commerce / e-health etc. Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1464May 29, 2014 6:16 pm googonga pagdia Know someone living at Googong and they now have NBN Remember that hole in the ground that people were thinking it a pool,I thought it might be under ground water tank, turns out it is a cellar. (generally garage or wherever on the outside of the house you want the box to be.) They then feed from there into your house and setup as per they do it. I'd have a look on whirlpool, you will find a bunch of advice. Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1466May 30, 2014 8:22 am uncyspam pagdia My roof tiles are on - pagdia How exciting! How long to go now? [quote]Uny - 3-4 weeks till lockup, I'm pretty sure we won't meet the mid Aug settlement but am assuming we will be in before Xmas, something would be terrible wrong if we weren't. Too much rubble, especially large bits of concrete has been going into the back of the retaining wall, they have to leave 1/2 a mtr for us to back fill with good soil for planting there would be some rubble put in to help with drainage, now, not sure if the Shaw living builders or who have completely filled and levelled, have advised my Project Manager who will now speak to the site manager, I'm sure it will all be sorted - pagdia[quote] Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1467Jun 02, 2014 7:44 am How is everyone going with there builds? or anymore news for those who have just settled? We would really like a lighter colour fence like dune. We have a lot of blue/grey tones in our build. Re: Anybody building at Googong ? 1478Jun 03, 2014 12:25 pm enkc - read page 23 of the guide lines, don't think you have a choice of colours. I know some sydney developments say you must have colorbond and it must be this colour. I know some sydney developments say you must have colorbond and it must be this colour. This is the problem we have, the spec homes next to us already put up palings (no consultation with us) so of course we want palings on the other side but we have already had one neighbour who wants colourbond which is fine as they are at the front and there fence finishes at our garage but we will refuse the others if they ask as it will look really silly in our backyard if we have part palings, part colourbond. I also think we will need our neighbours to build their retaining walls before we can put in fence posts as their site cuts are right to the boundary. We need our fences up when we move in as we have a dog and children. Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 11798 Elvis has left the building... The site supervisor quit after 2 month on the project. I guess he was just instructed to bark at people, but didn't like when he was… 26 21565 |
