Help with ensuite desi 33May 26, 2014 12:56 pm Oh and thanks for the link MalSannie! I don't want to loose the tub because soaking in a nice warm bath is so soothing for the aching muscles. I am considering it therapy! The wir hall part is 1200 wide, should be easily accessible. Emma Knock Down Rebuild with Clarendon Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 34May 26, 2014 6:43 pm Can totally understand wanting to soak in the bath! You've actually got a lovely big ensuite there. I think it would be a bit annoying getting out of the shower with towels far away - especially in winter! How about something like this - as the shower door handle maybe? It would be low enough to reach using a wheelchair: http://www.houzz.com/photos/3527448/stainless-steel-shower-accessories-contemporary-towel-bars-and-hooks-other-metro Overdoor hooks like these http://www.ryansdirect.co.uk/main/product/productinfo/1072 could work too, but it would be too high to reach from a seated position I'd think You also look at free standing towel rails in front of the window like these http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8326030.htm Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 35May 26, 2014 8:36 pm Oh thanks, I'm liking those hooks! The shower will be swapped with the bath to avoid the bulkhead so there isn't room for a freestanding towel rail at that end. Thanks for the ideas! Help with ensuite desi 36May 26, 2014 9:19 pm Hi Emma It is a bit hard without exact measurements of everything in the ensuite but wonder if this would work? (and whether I can explain it well enough) Leave the toilet and basins where they are. Move the bath to where the shower is and have the bath run under the window/along the external wall. Move the shower into the bottom left corner of the above floorplan so that it shares a wall with the WIR and the bedroom. Enclose the WIR access. Make the ensuite access from the bedroom between the bath and the shower. (I am not sure without exact measurements whether this leaves 820 for the door?) Have one towel rack on the wall where you have just enclosed the WIR. Have another towel rack on the back of the ensuite door which will open out towards the bath. Does that fit? Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 37May 26, 2014 9:51 pm Hi, yes we did try to do that but the bath doesn't leave enough room for the cavity slider for the toilet. Ill get some measurements and post tomorrow. Thanks for that though, that's what I need, suggestions! Emma Knock Down Rebuild with Clarendon Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 38Jun 15, 2014 4:45 pm Hmmmm we may be swapping builders. Just got our tender letter and it is almost $40k more than our original estimates. A whopping $9k in site management charges because our build is on a busy road. Considering going back to hallmark and modifying the ascent 250. Emma Knock Down Rebuild with Clarendon Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure. Help with ensuite desi 39Jun 16, 2014 6:54 am Oh no what a bummer Before you switch though make sure the other builders won't charge you for the same reasons. I hate surprises like that, not sure how people are meant to budget? Hope you get something sorted soon Re: Our knock down rebuild adventure.
