Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Henley Homes 42May 10, 2014 5:14 pm sands_13 Went for a visit to our block today and got an awesome surprise in the form of a rather large digger and freshly cut block, we have officially started our build. I still haven't had a formal letter or from call from Henley stating the fact but at this stage I am not complaining. Hey awesome start.. It seems you are our neighbor... I saw a freshly cut block, looks awesome. Do you know if your house height or slab is sitting above the current pedestrian.. On left side I saw one house built by Simonds but driveway is bit below than the pedestrian.. I would love if I get a slab or house sits just above or on same level to pedestrian. .... I will discuss final site cost on Monday and contract is at the end of month, in between a lot is to be done.. We hope all goes well, bit worried with the site cost...! can't help. Congratulations on your site start.. It will go quick from now and you will be in your new dream house very soon... Wish you all the best. Keep posting your updates! Thanks, Re: Henley Homes 43May 10, 2014 9:58 pm Hey Meendish I ve struggled to find other in Harvest Views, are you our left or right neighbor? We haven't seen our block since Thursday, spoke to the SS yesterday and he hopes to have the drains laid by next week and the slab started. Our plans have us below the Pedestrian as well similar to the simmonds home. Good luck with your tender and site costs ours came in at $32,000 as we need to retaining walls (one brick) and we have $8,000 provisional rock costs so we are hoping this goes down and not up. Also I wish the council hadn't changed the name of the road it has already caused a couple of issues for us. Anyway what us done is done. Look forward to following your progress as well. A Hi Andauz We are in the Rosehill estate. I bet you can't wait to get in. Have you been happy with the build so far? Where abouts in gisborne are you? Re: Henley Homes 45May 11, 2014 5:25 pm Hi Emz,
We are building in Morningside. The build is going ok. Just a bit slow but quality is spot on. Hoping to be finished in 10 weeks. I am currently living in Rosehill until the new place is finished. A Re: Henley Homes 46May 17, 2014 12:26 am hi everyone, just want to know your thoughts. I am thinking of upgrading my kitchen sink from double bowl top mount to undermount, do you think it's a good idea? upgrade costs about $790 - Build thread- My Allegra- Dream by Henley Re: Henley Homes 49May 17, 2014 11:26 am We also went full size undermount sinks because I truly dislike 1&1/4 sink as I currently have that at my place. I find the 1/4 side is quite useless as I handwash more than using dishwasher Second Build, this time with Carlisle 2016, can't wait! Maybe get them done at same time and be slugged with the variation once... Second Build, this time with Carlisle 2016, can't wait! I know I can get that info from Cosham when I visit but we're still a few weeks away from that as I haven't decided 100% on Henley as yet. I have the upgrade price list from the Sales Consultant so it would be handy to know what bricks are available so I can budget accordingly. Thanks! Thanks for both your responses. You both have picked nice bricks. [sneakersss] Re: Henley Homes 57Jun 02, 2014 5:00 am hi everyone! its beeen a while, just waNT TO PICK YOUR BRAINS ON THIS ONE.
my hubby and I were planning to build a small pool in our backyard after we settle in but now we think it would be better if we just do it whilst we are buildin. the issue is I was going through the home manual and realised we did not upgrade the footings for the house to accomodate the pool-not sure if this is the correct language< anyway we have signed our contracts and I will not forgive myself if we can not build our tiny pool. do you think Henley is going to charge us an arm and a leg for this? anyone facing similar issues? i really need your help- thinking of calling admin in the morning sorry-too long a question Re: Henley Homes 59Jun 02, 2014 3:55 pm evec if we do not "upgrade the footings" do you think the pool will compromise the integrity of the house? Could you talk to a pool company/companies and ask them their opinion? I'm sure lots of people have had pools done after a house was built. [sneakersss] Re: Henley Homes 60Jun 02, 2014 3:56 pm Can anyone enlighten me on how the Cat1 tile range is? Are they decent enough or would going up to Cat2 or Cat3 be needed?
