It's my bathroom colour, I did keep simple as you suggested Airyfairy and they're all the same and I think I like it but I just don't know if I love it! Would be nice if they could put the choices into an image to see the overall look! And yes RC doesn't help when you watch the block and other shows. Good luck with your choices HFM. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 507May 05, 2014 3:32 pm My husband and I have been looking at building since August last year and have, in January this year, finally decided that it is time. I have made several calls and had several discussions with a myriad of people at the sales office and have been told so many different things that our heads are spinning. I now feel like we are behind the eight ball and it will end up costing us tens of thousands of dollars as land prices go up with every release. I am so disheartened by the correspondence (or lack of) over the last five months that I am seriously considering either building elsewhere, or compromising and purchasing an existing house and renovating. Did anyone else have issues with regards to the purchase of their land? Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 508May 05, 2014 3:47 pm Hi Naddi_c, that's such a shame you haven't had a good experience! Unfortunately I'm of no help to you, we were lucky enough to purchase land that was previously released and sold but the buyer's finance fell through. Any time that I have spoken to Geoff in the MR sales office he has been really helpful. Perhaps it might be worth driving in and seeing him in person? GVgrande96 - I kept things pretty neutral too, nothing too designer savvy. I guess plain will stand the test of time and you can brighten things with accessories. But I also don't think I will love it. Our bricks and windows were delivered and I'm very happy with the colours so I'm hoping I will also be happy once the internals come to life. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 509May 05, 2014 7:00 pm Hi nadi-c - I have found that if u show a general interest and that you are serious then thy will get you on the list. I had been following MR release for quite sometime and I was on their pre-release email list but then one day after having a lengthy chat to Jeff he allowed us to put our names down against a block which pretty much garaunteed we got it. We were actually the 2nd names against the blocks we purchased. Adenbrook actually were going to build their homes but because I was persistent with Jeff and constantly kept in touch, he asked them if they were willing to give up one of their blocks and Jeff offered it to us! I guess they get so many people through the door that it's hard to release too much detail to everybody... Just tell them your serious I suppose? Good luck with it all. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 510May 05, 2014 9:49 pm Sorry to hear you have been given the runaround naddi. We had the same experience as lstr - we went up and spoke to Jeff and when we said we would hate to have to camp out (as a friend in a different area had to do) he pulled out his list and asked us which block we wanted. Then he took us through the fence to view the blocks (pre-release and pre-registration). We organised our finance and when the land was registered we got a phone call and confirmed the sale and it went very smoothly. Who have you been speaking to up there? Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 514May 06, 2014 12:41 pm Hi everyone, I've been stalking this thread for a while but have decided to join in. We have decided to build in MR, have been into the land sales office a few times, looked at lots of display homes and plans and are just sorting out our finances. I just have a question - did anyone make an offer on their block or was there no room for negotiation due to the high demand for the blocks? Cheers Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 515May 06, 2014 6:17 pm JJ+B Hi everyone, I've been stalking this thread for a while but have decided to join in. I just have a question - did anyone make an offer on their block or was there no room for negotiation due to the high demand for the blocks? Cheers All the lots are already priced. There was no negotiating with ours, it was take it or leave it. But then there were others that had their name in our block if we didn't want it. Good luck!! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 516May 06, 2014 6:45 pm Welcome Chapman88 & JJ&B. Chapman, we are building an Armstrong with Elderton. JJ&B - didn't try and negotiate. Price is what it is. Drainage dug out today. They'll finish that tomorrow and hopefully fence the place ready for our frame! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 517May 06, 2014 7:00 pm Our land purchasing experience was great... first go see Jeff in person and show that you are serious. Then put your name down for pre release registration and try to reserve a lot before it goes on sale to the general public. In saying that, I have heard that the next release of land isn't for a few months. It will pay to get in early if you are serious. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 518May 08, 2014 9:33 am Thanks for the responses. I had a feeling that the prices might be set. I was in the sales office last week and they told me that there would be a release within the next 3-4 weeks, however all of the good blocks in that release are already "reserved". I might have another look at it though and see if we can be put down as second in line on any that we like, just in case the first in line pulls out. Another question - the last blocks to sell in each release seem to be corner blocks. Someone in the sales office (it was a few months ago so can't remember who) said the only reason they can think of is because they're typically very large blocks (700m2+) so are more expensive which is why they're sitting around for longer. Does anyone have any other idea why corner blocks are less desirable? Cheers, JJ+B Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 519May 08, 2014 5:39 pm Corner blocks are more expensive due to the size of the land but also the house you build is required to have something of interest and not just bare bricks. It needs to look nice just like your front would. It is an estate requirement. The Mulgoa Rise guide has information in it. Talk to Jeff about it before you purchase. Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you.
