Stone Benchtop in Ensuite is damaged with many small holes here and there which were hard to Pick during PCI Building Hamilton 31 with Eden Brae in Oran Park http://hassanbeggbuildinghamilton31eden ... gspot.com/ Can I make a suggestion that you take photo of the holes in the stone benches and bring it to the attention of your SS now? Even if you have to wait for 13 week maintenance to have it fixed? The first thing that my inspector told me when he came was if we didn't list the is stone issue at PCI then it wasn't getting fixed as EB did not know if the damage had been done before we moved in or not. He told me this prior to us even getting started on our maintenance list as he saw that we had 40mm thick stone benchtops in kitchen. Thanks BH I will definitely do it tonight but first day we moved in I contacted KC and raised the issue by email as well. Can use that email as a proof Building Hamilton 31 with Eden Brae in Oran Park http://hassanbeggbuildinghamilton31eden ... gspot.com/ Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10386Apr 25, 2014 4:17 pm oronno Hassanbegg and NSharma, how's going with ur house? any issues did u find out for maintenance inspection ? Only issues i can see are cracks in the paint on the window frame.. everything else is great One thing that i have noticed, and would like to see if anyone else here knows what I'm talking about, every now and then i would notice a smell in the bathrooms, really odd, damp sort of smell.. And then this morning i could smell it through out the whole house.. Think it may be the drains but not sure.. Could also be because of the rain Its very very annoying. I've opened all the window to get some airflow in here.. also lighting candles. Its pretty much gone now but dont want it to come back again Building Lawson 27 MKII Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10387Apr 25, 2014 4:26 pm NSharma oronno Hassanbegg and NSharma, how's going with ur house? any issues did u find out for maintenance inspection ? Since then no smell. I'll try to PM firstimer2013. Hi Hassanbergg, Thank you for your response. Omg, I didn't expect it to be so expensive. Do you have any drop edge beams on the slabs? Btw your wardrobe looks amazing. I'll save the tradie's number for future use. Does he do kitchen bench and cabinets? Does he do kitchen bench and cabinets? Hi amazingk, yes we did have drop edge beam but not much. Yes this guy does kitchen and other cabinets in laundry and living areas as well. I also have to get some more work done but due to low budget that didn't get done now. In future yes we live. The journalist did not warn us as promised unfortunately. A stranger came up to me on the soccer sideline to talk about the article LOL. Happy with the article but the choice of photos was a bit weird and they all look a bit 'washed out' to me. Prior to signing off the contract tender we did asked about the location of the electrical box, gas meter and the NBN box but was told we have to go through the electrical appointment. We later requested from the CSA to confirm with the position and was told its on the master bedroom wall! A post variation for only the NBN box going to cost $530 to move it to the garage side. The post variation does not mention the associated work involved. Just wondering has anyone come across this? Can't believe there is no common sense in locating any electrical items away from a person's head when designing the home! Very disappointed and not even sure how much it will cost for the other items. Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10396Apr 26, 2014 2:55 pm Hey amazingk, just been reading about your slab stuff. We were in the same boat where our land had a slight amount of fall which required drop edge beam and saline affected soil making us go to H class as well. Our price was $10,500 all up for our site costs. This was calculated in March last year so don't forget to factor in price changes every quarter. I think $12k is a good price. You can't jeopardise the foundation of your home to save costs. Regarding the reinstatement stuff, on our last PCV it stated that the slab was M which was incorrect so I kindly told my CSA that I wasn't accepting that. In other news our house has been finished and we have been in for a month now. The finishing a are amazing!! The thing I am noticing now is the paint, which isn't that bad but my god that could have sanded the skirting boards a bit more far out. Our stacker door is on an angle which was discovered during blinds installation and they need to grout a bit more through other areas. Other wise it's perfect! Of course it is it's my home!!! We had a similar issue as our electrical box was simply going to be plonked in the middle of our corner "feature" developer requirement. I got up management about it as we had not approved its location, they quoted 4k to move it onto the garage wall (otherwise it would have been on our bedroom wall), but in the end thankfully common sense prevailed and it looks that all that has been left on the exposed corner is our water mains. Incredibly grateful for our SS who managed to pull that off for us. Hi firsttimer2013, Thanks for your response. I thought I was being ripped off but after reading your's and hassenbergg's pricing I fell more reassured. I'll have another go on the tender pricing and see if I could reduce some upgrades. Btw do you know how much it cost for adding additional power points, tv points, and Ethernet connections? Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 10399Apr 26, 2014 11:33 pm Hi Binskin, Very glad to hear of the good outcome . Our house is actually located in the middle of the block. We find EB staff are less helpful and cooperative after the deal is sealed. Hopefully, things are going to turn around and that we will get a great SS during the building stage. We had our electrical appointment not too long ago and paid the following for additional items Dbl power points - $81 each Tv points - $110 each Ethernet - $146 We have spent over 10k extra on electrical - it all adds up so quickly! I built with EB back on 2009.
