I probley use white you don't won't to much colour Re: Custom Design on 5 Acres Northern NSW - Eaves colour???? 23Apr 13, 2014 11:22 am Oh good, glad it wasn't me totally missing something. I'll have a look at the paint fan and see what I come up with. Any suggestions would be greatfully received. White - such an easy colour to choose! Re: Custom Design on 5 Acres Northern NSW - Eaves colour???? 24Apr 13, 2014 4:01 pm Our fascia is paperbark and we have gone for the same colour for the eaves. You could do the same with your evening haze. Re: Custom Design on 5 Acres Northern NSW - Eaves colour???? 25Apr 13, 2014 8:32 pm Many people i know have chosen the same fascia colour as the eaves Build thread http://tinyurl.com/llgc7yk Re: Custom Design on 5 Acres Northern NSW - Eaves colour???? 26Apr 13, 2014 10:10 pm You've already seen our eaves on my thread. We painted them monument (same as our cladding will be) which is an unusual choice as most just go white but I really love how they look in the near black colour. I ended up going with evening haze 1/4 strength. I hope that works ok as I didn't test it at all. Its been a busy week. There must have been a reason I hadn't posted details of my internal selections as they have all changed! We were advised on Monday, the tiles we'd selected ave been discontinued. And there are no stock available. Wow, way to make final rising the quote very difficult. So advised the builder to put a PC amount in the quote and contract. Anyway, looks like we've found a new tile now. The original tile was 450x450. The tile we found only came in 300x300 or 600x600. Cue desperate phone call to builder to see if we could have the big tiles. After reading on here they were often very expensive to lay, I was concerned we wouldn't be able to have them. Yes we could. Yay! Very happy indeed. But as the new tiles are more Greg than grey-brown, it has caused a whole new selection of nearly everything. However, as the tiles also come in 300x300, it made the wet area choice really easy. So have now changed kitchen bench tops, carpets (yet to finalize), bathroom bench tops etc. Other good news, we are expecting to get our contract and finalized pricing tomorrow. Hopefully final plans also (unless they are stuffed up again). I finally feel we are getting closer, and its not just a pipe dream. They were mostly grey, but with brown tones. We were going to have a mocha bench top to bing out the warmer brown tones and a coffee coloured carpet. We were also having a charcoal/black floor tile in the wet area. This was a little dark, but I hadn't found anything I like better Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is the one we've chosen now. Terrazzo black from amber. And us playing with other samples along side it. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is what we are thinking of for the bathroom. Not sure of the laminex colour. That one is pavement. At that angle it looks a little beige. We've ordered a larger sample of this. We will be having a glass splash back but will wait til nearly the end to chose a colour for this. Re: Custom Design on 5 Acres Northern NSW - Eaves colour???? 29Apr 18, 2014 11:54 am They all look great! Love the QQ Tornado Build thread http://tinyurl.com/llgc7yk Re: Custom Design on 5 Acres Northern NSW - Eaves colour???? 31Apr 18, 2014 6:33 pm Thanks BB7 and AKB. Yes, loved the old tiles but maybe just a little happier with the new ones. Especially as they are larger, I'm so pleased about that. Met with the builder this afternoon (Good Friday, how good is that!) and gut the final price, draft contract and near final plans. Bloody drafts person still hasn't got some of the windows right. So now back to the bank to finalise finance and we will be ready to go to council. Hope to be on site within the month! Re: Custom Design on 5 Acres Northern NSW - Eaves colour???? 32Apr 24, 2014 6:33 am Oh that's fantastic! Big congrats Build thread http://tinyurl.com/llgc7yk Re: Custom Design on 5 Acres Northern NSW - Waiting...... 33Apr 24, 2014 1:50 pm Hope to see the final contract this afternoon, ready to sign, and should have finance early next week. It's now a waiting game. Still trying to sort out carpet, but not finding anything we love. A few that are ok, but not love. So we have decided to wait until towards the end of the build to choose something. Paint is similar. I'm finding it really hard to get an accurate idea of a colour on cardboard. everything is beige for some reason. Really leaning towards white duck, probably 1/4, but liking the 1/2 I am seeing on threads here. Again, no major rush to decide. Now just really want to get on with it. So does the builder. He is already trying to work out when he can book in the earthworks etc, based on when we should get approval. So thats very promising. Re: Custom Design on 5 Acres Northern NSW - Waiting....... 34Apr 24, 2014 3:14 pm I hear ya re painting and carpets - it took me 2 years to decide on tiles lol viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Custom Design on 5 Acres Northern NSW - Waiting....... 35Apr 26, 2014 6:06 pm Went to bunnings this afternoon. Looking at paint samples, still. Tried limed white, might be a little purple. We were also looking at a feature wall for our main bedroom, haven't really found anything that is grabbing us. Prob need to finalise the main paint first. What we did find tho is some wallpaper: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It's known as super fresco easy - jazz charcoal. It looks really interesting. We are now thinking of this as a feature in the main bed. But the thought of putting up wallpaper leaves me cold. Who would you get to wallpaper? Anyone have any thoughts on wallpaper? Re: Custom Design on 5 Acres Northern NSW - Waiting....... 37May 01, 2014 4:14 pm YAY!!!! Just heard finance has been approved!!!
