Browse Forums Paving & Concreting Re: Honed concrete interior finish - How it works? 4Apr 04, 2014 6:56 pm Sunshine2013 Hi Abbey, We are getting "half grind" which is basically grinding until the aggregate and stones in the slab are just exposed, I think they take up to 5mm off depending on the exposure. We are getting the cheaper sealant which lasts 7-10 years (he has a client has had it for 14 years and still going strong) depending on traffic (sometimes longer) and is costing us $70 sqm. The dearer sealant (magnetic?) lasts 10-20 years was $120 sqm but we don't think well be in the house for that long. To achieve different colours the additives are put into the slab and the ground back to achieve the desire result. Personally we love it Recommend you choose a reputable company, anyone can buy these machines and make a mockery of your floor. Experience pays Well i feel i must comment . You are getting what is called a Grind and a Seal or Cheap as Chips at at Lobster price .. Sealer wont last 7-10 years try 2 at the most . If in the sunlight it will yellow and the best part is you will have to maintain it . Make sure for your $70.00 a sqm it is pit filled at least . Never heard of a magnetic floor . IN flooring you pay for what you get and if your Grind and Seal turns out crap be prepared to pay double that to get it fixed .. Re: Honed concrete interior finish - How it works? 5Apr 04, 2014 8:04 pm Well thanks Getjason, i really do appreciate you having the need to comment…. I have seen the guys work, he is top notch. Yes you are correct it is reffered to as a Grind and Seal and is at the bottom end of concrete polishing. This was the finish we were after as there is no guarantee when grinding you will not find patches of flooring with no exposed stones as the aggregate settles when the slab is poured. And yes…. the floor is pit filled….i am going thru an experienced company with over 35 years experience servicing Melbourne. If my grind and seal goes pear shaped you'll be the first to know….. Re: Honed concrete interior finish - How it works? 6Jul 12, 2014 11:52 am Hi just curious to hear about how this went? Good results? Pics? I assume this is on a standard concrete floorand not a specially poured floor? MBA and HIA both have sub contract agreements, check them out 2 7507 I want to build a bigger driveway (without a nature strip) than has been approved under my CDC. I’ve also had a DA approved to build a deck. It looks like I can do this… 0 4956 Fair Trading can issue orders to rectify and complete but once the matter goes to NCAT these orders are automatically vacated. You will have to terminate contract and sue… 21 30130 |
