Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 348Apr 02, 2014 7:33 pm Congrats dream home. You must be really excited. We were up on Darug at 7 am this morning to check our block on the way to work. We saw the tradies at your block. They were already working. So happy for you. We had our security camera installed today on the block. I am just coming home now. So hubby sent me a picture of it so I wouldn't miss out! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 349Apr 02, 2014 7:38 pm I agree that a nice coffee shop and the waterfall would be so good up there, overlooking the estate, coffee shops are the very in thing these days arent they! i even wish that GP Gloria jeans could be open later at night, meet some friends down there for a coffee escape from the kids for a while for some much needed peace and quiet. The estate will take approx 4 years to fill wont it, so more than likely the sales office and feature will remain until the estate is full, perhaps we could get them to move the waterfall to the other side so it remains - developer would listen to us wouldnt they Lstr - we looked at some smaller builders and found that the extra were exi. Ducted for example would be $12k yet the ducted package we got was $1k extra because EB can buy it in bulk. Follow your gut instinct, thats all you can really do. You sound like me, young kids i want to know all abot the schools, shops and daycare too. anything so i dont have to go into GP much. Bluestoners - didn't take long for the hoods to move across the street, heartbreaking seeing people not care for our precious estate. Sunrise - SO happy for you guys! cant wait to see your house come to life! those cameras are supposed to be pretty good, you will get lots of good shots of your house coming up Dream - things are moving along now, when will you get your slab? should be next week shouldn't it? Re-assuring that you wont get any house movement. The houses will really spring up now in Binyang, once they start you blink and they are up! hopefully the rain has cleared for a while and you all get a free ride into the Easter break and get lots of action on your blocks. This link should interest you guys http://www.realcommercial.com.au/proper ... rk-5768610 Atleast they are now advertising for retailers to go into GP town centre. The extension has got to be soon. We're still waiting on council, went in on 19 Feb so I ph today and they said should be end of next week fingers crossed all goes ok! Noticed KJ was determined today lucky them and they where after us go figure! It's all happening in MR houses going up everywhere! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 351Apr 02, 2014 7:50 pm Lstr123 Hi all Anyone have a rough idea on the price for a lap pool sv a plunge pool? Thanks Lstr123, our pool is 7x3 and by the time you put council, electrical, coping, fence with most companies your looking around $40000 in total, could swing in a little cheaper! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 352Apr 02, 2014 9:49 pm We are saving a hell of a lot on our pool by putting it in when the house is done. Costs we are saving are the temporary fencing and covering the pool. Those things alone is about $2k-$3k. dreamhome, I have heard nothing and if I don't get a reply email first thing, I'll be ringing and speaking to someone higher. I need information so I can plan payments and tile appointments etc. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 353Apr 03, 2014 10:23 am Hi everyone!!! Haven't been online for a bit, really busy with work and the netball season starting again! Dream home, congrats on piering! I am looking forward to watching your place go up just ahead of ours. You have me worried about rock though. Good for houses , not so good for pools grrr. I am really hoping it doesn't cause us any issues. I really don't want to have to put my fireplace & furniture fund to rock excavation fees. We got determined yesterday!!!!! Just waiting for official notification of approval now. Also paying the council infrastructure bond today for the pool. It's all systems go !!!! Hopefully we will have a slab by end of May. I will go up to MR over the weekend and check out all the action. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 354Apr 03, 2014 10:31 am Oh forgot to mention, LSTR we are using Better Pools & Spas, they were fantastic and did a really good price. We are just getting a 6 x 3 concrete pool. Our tiles/pavers are going to match the coping so it's streamline and then a glass fence which we will install ourselves. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 356Apr 03, 2014 5:18 pm Yay! Congrats kj!! Doesn't look they were worried about our input anyway! Well according to my email, our block was cut yesterday. It wasn't at around 5pm because I drove past. It wasn't today at about 5pm either. Piering is allegedly being done tomorrow. Hope they don't need a level block for that! Our slab should be finished at the end of next week. They might need to get a bit of a move on. Not like they are paying my rent! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 357Apr 03, 2014 6:27 pm Thanks Airy! I am so excited. It's now starting to feel real . We went for a walk through the display home to start thinking about furniture the other day which was fun though my hubby just needs to finally learn that I will always win lol Let me know how you go with the cut ie hitting rock. I am not so worried about the slab but moreso the pool and any associated costs Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 358Apr 03, 2014 7:42 pm Hi all! We have decided we will be building with WH. The inclusions are just too good compared to smaller builder. Although they claim to be a "package builder" we estimate another 100K ontop for extras and upgrades - of course we like all the things that cost a lot of money. It will be tightening the screws over the next year saving whilst we are living with the Inlaws. We are meeting with WH this sat and will pay the 1k to get the ball moving. To help with this, does anyone know if anything at all is negotiable? Or can they throw in things for free? Ie the current promotion etc? Also what are people's thoughts on taking out the flooring in the package and doing it all after handover? WH goes with dilorenzo and we really want the tiles that look like wooden floorboards. Tiling allowance with WH is $35sqm which I think won't be enough. Is it better to pay for the upgrade and extra laying cost or remove the whole thing & do carpet and tiling myself after? Renski - yep I have 2 little boys. It's so lovely that a little community is building already here. Which street are you on? Gvgrande - thanks for the rough indication of pool cost. 40k. Eek! Inflation is a betch! Kjhosko- you said you for a good price - do you mind me asking how much? Thanks all for your help Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 359Apr 03, 2014 7:56 pm Lstr123, What street are you building on? We will be on bluestone drive. We have 2 little girls aged almost 5 1/2 and 3. Would be good if they have someone to play with around there age. They love bike riding alot. So they cannot wait to rife around tracks etc up in mulgoa rise. Would really love to know if we have any neighbors on this site. We are building with allworth homes single story home. Be glad when things get started. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 360Apr 03, 2014 8:20 pm Lstr123 - we are building with WH signing the contracts tomorrow actually. Which house did you go with? We are also in love with the wood effect tiles. The 35m2 doesn't go very far at all at DiLorenzo but I have no idea if it is cheaper to do it yourself. Which st are you on? Bluestone65 - we are also on Bluestone and gave 2 boys aged 6 & 10. So happy there are families with young children building. Where we live now has no small children just retired couples and older families Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you.
