All the best with it! (and yes, I never understood that fish/trees/shells picture fascination on tiles!) some are just hideous! My husband hates the idea of painting over tiles as he doesn't like the finish but now you can get a gloss finish so I'm thinking anything's got to be better than those coloured fish, lol. Thanks again Loving our new home, Upper Hunter NSW on 2.5 acres Re: Tile Paint - anyone used it?? 6Apr 01, 2014 2:40 pm hahaha well i'm sure in the past people have used regular wall paint to go over tiles, resulting in a bit of a chalky dull finish, so no wonder he's a bit scared! If you are using a specialised tile paint, it will come out glossy instead of flat and dull like a wall paint would. lol yes! Banish those fish Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Tile Paint - anyone used it?? 7Jul 19, 2014 11:25 pm The White Knight tile paint is excellent. I used it in on my laundry tiles and kitchen tiles (white over daggy 70's green). Perfect. Did the kitchen 10 years ago and laundry a year ago. Very durable. Can't tell it's paint. I wouldn't do the floor though. Re: Tile Paint - anyone used it?? 8Jul 20, 2014 11:14 am I am pretty sure Michelle has used it. I seem to remember her talking about it with her renos. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=18087&p=234939&hilit=+tile+paint#p234939 Re: Tile Paint - anyone used it?? 10Jul 21, 2014 9:07 am you'll have to search for her reno thread. that link above is just her saying she was going to use it. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13354 is Michelles reno thread But it is 49 pages long. I did a quick search using the advanced search engine thingy at the top and the only other mention i could find from Michelle was the one below. I'm out of time now. Work calls and as I sadly didn't win Lotto and my holidays are over I've got to go. Michelle didn't seem too confident about the tile paint in it. BUT I think she was happy with it when she used it. ( I maybe wrong.) Why not PM her and ask. I did find a very old reference to it from Michelle though in which she said, "You can buy a “TEXTURE PEN” that you use to colour the grout! It’s a special one for that purpose! .....The tile paint is ok…….a good remedy for a short term resolve. But you’re better off in the long run to bite the bullet and re-tile. There are some many great tiles available, so why limit your selection." Re: Tile Paint - anyone used it?? 11Jul 21, 2014 9:22 pm Thanks so much Kextkez for taking the time to have a look for me, I really appreciate it. Bugger not winning lotto and having to go back to work I will check it out, thanks Loving our new home, Upper Hunter NSW on 2.5 acres Re: Tile Paint - anyone used it?? 13Jul 25, 2014 9:00 pm kexkez you'll have to search for her reno thread. that link above is just her saying she was going to use it. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13354 is Michelles reno thread But it is 49 pages long. Ready to do yet another paint over as the white paint when yellow!! This time it will be full gloss enamel dark grey. But the bathroom will have to wait till I get back from my 3 week trip to South Africa next April Even though the paint when yellow, I can NOT scratch it off the tiles. So it has stick to the tiles extremely well. The bathroom will get a new vanity which has been sitting in the garage for 3 years and tapes. New flooring and paint the tiles.....thats it, then I sit here till I sell again with the renos I have done.
