If the cleaners are engaged by the builder to clean the property then it is between the builder and the cleaner. That said I know my builder requires a waiver to be signed if high gloss laminates are used. In this case I would ask the builder to either take it up with the cleaners or foot the refit. Before doing so I would reconfirm with your docs that you did not sign any waivers for the gloss finish. It is worth pushing in this case as rectification would be a lot I would think and it definitely could have been avoided. Good luck. Re: HELP! Our kitchen has been damaged by cleaners day of PC 3Mar 27, 2014 10:13 am When we built we were told that any of our supplied items were not covered under our builder's cover - we too supplied kitchen, bathroom items, lights etc. There was a clause in our contract to that effect. Have you checked your contract first? If they specified no cover then you can try negotiating directly with the cleaner but you may be on your own. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: HELP! Yes we have a clause in the contract, but after obtaining legal advice yesterday, we have a case still, all we need to do is prove the builders workers did the damage.....hmmm, not as easy as we thought, although we are scanning through every photo and video and have a few pics on our side, fingers, toes and each hair on our heads are crossed. Need to end this whole building thing in our lives and sleep more than 2 hrs a night. Were renovating one house, this new build, and working 10-12 hr 6 day weeks, taking it's toll, just would be easier if our builders were responsible and took pride in their work, some are like a bunch of blind gibbons....cheers for your post, hope your build is or was a nicer experience and you are happy. Also, yes we did ask ourselves those questions prior to complaint issued, we are pedantic about our kitchen, it's the main feature and cost in excess of 60k with appliances, we supplied all the protection and was told by builder that it wouldn't be damaged and be looked after. We definitely haven't caused or played a role in the damage, that we are 100% certain. If you saw the cleaners efforts and tools, you would see why we r in this situation, in hindsight I would have employed our own cleaners. Re: HELP! Hey Bek your house is looking great and so quick too! Its just a shame about the neighbours-one can only assume its down to jelousy! Quite pathetic but anyway look at the big picture and your amazing house-its really probably just the youths of the family being stupid-I just cant fathom how adults could possibly act like that??? Our kitchen has been damaged by cleaners day of PC 7Apr 02, 2014 10:09 pm Still no result, we are seriously considering common law action, but if we lose, which I don't think we would, but if we did lose, it's the last chance we'd have, by law, to fight it. Wish fairies would just fix it overnight, it's upsetting to look at a new scratched kitchen, heartbreaking at our age, last chance of our dream home. So tired..zzzz Re: HELP! Than you, I'm just so tired, not sure I can cope with any more, we now have deep scratches in our diamond gloss vanity top from the builders glass twits after they had to replace the framed mirror for frameless, not only did they simply take the frame off the cut glass mirror instead of replace it with an actual frameless arrassed edge mirror, but they left a badly damaged benchtop. It's doing my head in, when are builders going to take some care in their work? Grrrr! 4 6821 Hello everyone, I have a question regarding moving a chandelier after it has been mounted.
