Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 19, 2014 4:22 pm Hi everyone. We are in the early stages of building the Phoenix 38 with Metricon in Adelaide. Our preliminary estimate includes an allowance of $30,000 for site costs. We are yet to complete soild tests etc to confirm what the actual cost will be. Does anyone know if this is a reasonable starting allowance? We are building in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide. Cheers BLOG: http://www.ourphoenix38.blogspot.com.au H1 THREAD: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70454 Re: Building with Metricon in Adelaide 2Mar 19, 2014 8:22 pm Depends on a lot of things but the main ones seem to be soil type on your block and the degree of slope - if any. Generally speaking, the agents use local area data and local job information to work out a starting point for your site fees. Our site fees were more than yours, but we had a 1.2 metre slope. The estimate versus actual cost was in our favour by a grand or so. Soil in the Eastern suburbs of Adelaide isn't that great so higher costs.
