The added advantage of Acrashield is that you get a 15 year warranty (if done by an approved installer) from Dulux. So although there's additional cost now, you won't need to re-coat it for a long time. If you're happy with the colour and can live with it for a long time, it may be worth it. Since it's a paint-on finish it's relatively cheap. We were quoted $22/sqm ($30 with the builder's 37% mark-up). See if you can negotiate a decent price for good will from your buider. Luckily I still have the display there to compare. Stick to your guns. You are entitled to standard of finish no less than the display home. They are playing poker and want you to blink. He was surprised we wanted to as acrylic render colour lasts longer without fading (and we had paid for it) but was happy to do it. The display home had apparently been acrylic rendered then painted over as well which is why the colour was more consistent. We asked him to just do the front of the house, to get the new look we wanted on our front facade. Thanks for all your help forum members. Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply again.
