It went very quickly and our SS picked things up quicker than we did. The problem was we did PCI without any power as the power guy didn't turn up. We also didn't have the garage and the flyscreen as of yet. That means we would have to be very thorough with our final inspection. We have not been given handover date but SS said they need 5 to 10 days to rectify. We need repainting too so I hope it does not hold things up. I went ahead and booked our trades on the third week as SS said we will definitely be in by then. So I am going to take his word for it. hubby said he was pretty amazing and very picky, and even mentioned to repair or re-do things that our previous ss thought was good enough, he obviously has higher standards and believes in delivering a quality product. we didn't have power either connected either, but the ss said they would do it next week, come Monday and it had all been done. almost on the home stretch. we need to go to site to clear some dumping for the fencing company to continue with fence installation, which is annoying as neighbours have added to the pile with their painting and cardboard from moving in their own homes, so now we will need to remove and pay for it to be taken to the dump, and to level the soil but it should be all done and then they can finish the fence. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building our first home in Pearsall, WA - Retaining issu 58Feb 28, 2014 10:17 pm I agree about his thoroughness and higher standards than previous SS. Hey that's annoying that you have to sort someone's rubbish! Been quoted a shocking 2,7k for retaining! Sigh. Sigh. Hey that's annoying that you have to sort someone's rubbish! Been quoted a shocking 2,7k for retaining! Sigh. Sigh. its done, all the rubbish was on the neighbours land, but we want that fence up as they are soon to start bricking. we found a massive snake skin in the pile, we think it is long gone as the road construction would have moved it along with all the vibration. we didn't realise just how much rubbish was there, we just moved it so they can finish the fence. that's a lot more costly than I would have expected, hopefully your neighbours are happy you split the cost with you as that is the fair thing as it benefits both of you. were not too hopeful to get keys this week as it appears no one has been to site, I think the ss might gave visited on Friday as our builder report is on the kitchen bench, the painter has been a no show for the last 4 days, and I would gather not much would be done over the weekend being a long weekend. building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65845 Re: Building our first home in Pearsall, WA - Retaining issu 60Mar 01, 2014 1:58 am Sounds like a different SS to me!! Lucky you Don't be afraid after handover to contact them with anything else you notice, we did and most was rectified. Can anyone recommend a good/affordable retaining wall and fence builder that I can get a quote from located in Sydney? 8 47006 thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16497 |
