I've got a 5 year old Westinghouse cooktop in my kitchen and have not been very happy with it. The flame (when on lowest setting) cuts out when the oven is turned on. I'm happy with Fisher & P. dishdrawer. With their fridge, it sometimes doesn't shut properly if 3-4 bottles are placed on the inside door, also it doesn't fit a 2 l bottle of soft drink on the door. I also find that a pull-out rangehood is a no-no so will go for a big, stand-alone one. Anybody with Miele cooktop/oven? Re: Kitchen appliances 2Jun 12, 2006 4:14 pm I have the following appliances in my kitchen.
Electrolux Gallery Oven Electrolux Gallery Magnetic Induction Cooktop Electrolux Gallery Glass Rangehood Electrolux Gallery Microwave / Oven Combo Electrolux Gallery Inbuilt Coffee Maker Electrolux Gallery Dishwasher I have been very happy with them so far. Re: Kitchen appliances 4Aug 15, 2006 4:13 pm I love it! There is no comparison to gas. Induction cooking is much more efficient. You can read about magnetic induction cooktops on my website. Re: Kitchen appliances 5Aug 16, 2006 8:26 am In my new home i'm fitting smeg appliances. They include a 900mm cooktop and rangehood, double oven and fully integrated dishwasher. I'm yet to hear a bad thing about smeg and the prices seem reasonable.
I will also be upgrading my fridge to a Jenn-air up-side-down 2 door in stainless. It's a little pricey but the quality seems to be there. The other brands I looked at were miele and the GE family of products. They were all nice but it came down to styling in the end. Re: Kitchen appliances 6Aug 17, 2006 10:05 pm renomart, great website. I have a different sort of question for you - I've looked at countless pictures of kitchens, both online and from magazines on sale in Australia - I can see a real difference in design (I'm talking very contemporary kitchens) - between Europe and Australia -is Australia a bit behind Europe, especially Italian and German designs? I'm hoping for a nice Poggenpohl look-alike... Re: Kitchen appliances 7Aug 21, 2006 6:38 pm Back to kitchen appliances topic - has anyone found an effective way to clean stainless steel cooktops, I'm finding it very hard to clean around the rings (not talking about food spilage, rather what looks like some sort of reaction), especially after cooking things that simmer for a few hours. I'm using quality pots and find I have to scrub afterwards which of course scratches the steel... Re: Kitchen appliances 8Aug 24, 2006 9:14 pm alto In my new home i'm fitting smeg appliances. Whilst Smeg ovens etc are faultless, their dishwashers don't have the best reputation Re: Kitchen appliances 9Aug 24, 2006 9:18 pm mek Back to kitchen appliances topic - has anyone found an effective way to clean stainless steel cooktops, I'm finding it very hard to clean around the rings (not talking about food spilage, rather what looks like some sort of reaction), especially after cooking things that simmer for a few hours. When walnut shells are crushed they are perfectly round and thus will not scratch anything. A rep demonstrated these by scrubbing the roof of his bosses Mercedes!. I use them on stainless steel and also they're great for scrubbing the bugs of the front of the car. Phone Britette Austaralia in your state for a stockist.
