Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 181Feb 26, 2014 6:48 am I've checked through my paperwork and I can't find anything about the structural warranty!! Where should I be looking? Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 182Feb 26, 2014 10:57 am Well that's what they are telling us now. We were actually about to sign the contract with them but did not found the 25 year structural warranty clause in it. When we asked our sales counsultant about it we were told that they now only offer 6 years. We are now in the process of negotiating that it be included since that was promised to us by the previous sales consultant and was written on the paperwork we signed when we locked up the price with them. Is it worth pursuing? I've read somewhere that the warranty only covers the original owner of the house and would not be honored if the original owner sells the house? Is my understanding correct? Hope everything goes well. Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 183Feb 28, 2014 12:51 am Lift off!! We have a slab! http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c257/tonikenny/BB3D3995-9B02-4AC5-BAF6-438C09E971D5_zpsmvmz8bcb.jpg Toni's thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=71645 Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 184Feb 28, 2014 9:04 am Hi all. I am building with Homegroup WA this year. We are currently waiting on land titles, not due until June unfortunately. We signed up with HGWA in July last year then land titles got delayed 6 months! We are building a modified Mediterranean with the $50K specs, not sure what this range is called now, but we have just re-signed on the special prices they have on at the moment with the same specs minus the painting because it gave us an extra 6 months locked in without price rises. I've found that so far our sales rep has been great, very quick to answer any requests and gets any changes made and quoted within days. I am slightly concerned about some of the bad reviews I've read about the length of time it can take them on the paperwork stage but we're hoping because we have such a long wait and we've already decided on out changes etc we might be able to cut down on some of the work after the titles are released. This forum has been really helpful, although I am fretting now about how much we might end up wanting in prestart, I don't think my partner will allow more than $10k, I think he'd be sick! Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 185Feb 28, 2014 1:40 pm hi bennycat it does take time to do the paper. once you have do prestart it is about a 10 to 14 week wait before they start work on the block. when are you due for prestart? Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 187Feb 28, 2014 4:24 pm from the prestart file to prestart is about 12 weeks they draw up the final plans and paper work we got our prestart file in september when we got our titles for the land. final paperwork was do on th 2 of december and prestart on the 5 of december we are now week 4 of the 6 weeks of the scheduling department. we have a tap and thats all! i am hoping that they will start in the next 3 weeks or so. check to see when they are doing the final paper work for your build, the norm is after you get the prestart file. there is 6 months of paper work and the 6 months start when they do the final paperwork! land titles delayed 6 months, that sucks!!! where are you building? when we first signed up i was hoping that the 6 months of paperwork started from the first peice of paper we signed in april last year! Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 189Feb 28, 2014 5:44 pm 13 months sounds good so far its been 6 months since we got the titles. another 9 months to go Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 190Feb 28, 2014 9:00 pm Hi guys! Wondering if anyone has the 450 x 450 floor tiling package included? If so, do you know what the rough rebate is? Or how much to upgrade to 500 x 500 or 600 x 600? Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 191Feb 28, 2014 11:01 pm Congrats on your slab Tonk! We finally also have lift off!!! Welcome bennycat! It was officially 6 months and 12days from our prestart to our slab...I challenge anyone to beat that! Haha Kristy we had the tiling package and got it credited for approx $3500. Not much but we also wanted 600x600 tiles and they didn't have much range available at the time. Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 192Feb 28, 2014 11:18 pm Thank you for that Dee_77. The amount seems minuscule for the amount of tiles and the labour..... My sister paid $13k for 600x600 high gloss porcelian for around 100sqm. Did you have a waterfall bench added in OR a overhang (for a breakfast bar)? Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 193Feb 28, 2014 11:33 pm Kristyherrington88 Thank you for that Dee_77. It's definitely not much but we really didn't like any of the tiles on offer so we took them out. We actually added both an overhang and waterfall ends to our kitchen bench! Do you mind me asking roughly how much? And was your build time & quality good? I've read quite a few bad reviews on product review and am now worried and contemplating, walking away from the deposit... Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 195Mar 01, 2014 8:09 am We asked to upgrade our tiles. We wanted 30x60 at a cost of $55 m2. To upgrade that that tile was $5,500. We didn't get those tiles, we went with the dark tiles instead. We were $10,000 over budget and need to cut something out and cutting out the tiles meant we saved $5,5000. Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 198Mar 01, 2014 10:46 am you can get it all but at a cost! we are doing ours after handover, they have to put on a row of tiles for the splash back. once you have handover take off the tiles and get the glass splashback to put the one you want on. our will cost about $600 HGWA will charge about $1,500 Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 199Mar 01, 2014 10:56 am Thanks a lot, I will definitely keep that in mind. I am planning to get quotes for a lot of upgrade stuff like that so I can decide whether to get them to do it or not. That's a real pain you have to have the row of tiles and then take them off though Another upgrade I wondered about is security mesh rather than flyscreens, does anyone know if HGWA offer that upgrade or not? It just seems a waste to pay HGWA for flyscreens and then have them replaced after handover Re: Home Group WA Reviews.... 200Mar 01, 2014 11:25 am on our last house we credit back the flyscreens We are looking to do a KDR with fairhaven homes, Have seen plenty of good reviews about them pre construction and plenty of negative reviews about them during contruction… 0 18282 Hi starting the process of looking around for Dual Occ builders.
