We almost there. It will not be the end, but a start of a new chapter of our life. Monday: We found a tradie working on our home on that day to patch and paint today with handover still on track this wednesday. Wednesday: handover day. Meeting with SS on site then have to drive all the way to Narrelan office near Campbeltown in the middle of Sydney's storm. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thursday: we brought out from the old home one full lot of stuff to the new house as well as waiting for the delivery of the appliances as part of the build. We were meeting solar panel guy, electrician installing downlights, waiting for FedEx delivery of our DoorBot doorbell, installing our wifi and testing the NBN, outstanding shower screen install, blinds and security door install and wardrobe company final measure. Pheww what a day. We contacted Sydney Wardrobe, Impressive Wardrobe and Stylish Wardrobe and we went ahead with Stylish Wardrobe. It's the same company that WH uses for their wardrobe, pantry shelving, shower screen, walking robe for the build. Got the contact from SS. For anyone wondering what is DoorBot doorbell. You can find out more here http://www.getdoorbot.com it was started as a kickstarter project that try to make a wifi connected doorbell. You can pick up and see and talk to your doorbell from anywhere on your mobile phone. How cool is that. costs US$200. Initial review so far pretty good. Setup was a breeze. Quality and the attention of details are remarkable. I'm happy so far considering a video intercom doorbell was quoted over AU$400 excluding installation cost. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Friday: all the appliances delivered yesterday were installed on this day. This includes Blanco microwave, Blanco rangehood, dishwasher, hot water system and Air Con installation. Ready for big move tomorrow. Forth day now and started to sink in. Was sureal in the first few days. Felt like a long trip during the moving (took 7 hours) and felt like we ended up in a nice holiday home villa that we have to clean up and unpack few things. It's so nice we don't have to do long school runs anymore. Managed to get TV antenna installed on monday, Can't wait to start to work on the landscape. Currently no fence and dirt are everywhere. Certainly busy time ahead. Will post some pictures after we tidy up a bit. Plan to do solar too in not too distant future. Got few quotes from solarquotes.com.au and almost deciding the one. Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 288Feb 27, 2014 10:20 pm Hi cspaces, congrats on moving in. we just signed the 3k tender now so waiting for the plans to be drawn now. u are using stylish wardobe to do more shelving in the wardrobes? Q. TV antenna is not included so u have to do it after moving in? Has anyone checked out the clarendon home @ the ponds the sheridan 34 the garage, has a epoxy painted on the garage floor looks great, the sales guy mentioned it was zircon epoxy but could find that on google at all. We just the wisdom USB key, Did anyone upgrade the soundscreen insulation if so how much is the upgrade, thinking for the HT room. Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 289Feb 27, 2014 11:04 pm Corey mentioned us? He came early morning and supposed to start today but the scaffolding on the build behind our lot is on the way of the boundary retaining wall. So we have to postponed the landscape until the scaffolding is taken down which we found out to be next Monday. Thanks ugly99, Yes. We ended up choosing stylish wardrobe to do more shelving. That's correct. TV antenna is not included and you have to arrange the installation yourself. Hmm. We might visit Clarendon to see this zircon epoxy floor. We didn't upgrade our home theatre with soundscreen insulation but our friend did add soundscreen insulation. You might want to add insulation in between floors too. Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 290Feb 28, 2014 7:11 am Interested in the epoxy covering also. I found a link to DIY epoxy kit from Bunnings: http://www.bunnings.com.au/dy-mark-8l-e ... t_p1580413 Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 291Mar 02, 2014 11:29 pm @cpaces - indirectly yes. he was telling about a couple of jobs - one up the road from us and yours (though he couldn't recall the name of the other street besides the main one). Built Wentworth 33 with Clarendon Homes Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 292Mar 29, 2014 6:14 pm ugly99 Did anyone upgrade the soundscreen insulation if so how much is the upgrade, thinking for the HT room. We're building with Wisdom and we added Soundscreen to a few different rooms. Adding it to the walls of the HT cost $850, adding it to the floor joists between the Ground and 1st Floors was another $3100, then adding it around most of the bedrooms and bathrooms was another $2100 (now that I think about it that's quite a lot!). We also added R2.0 batts to any remaining internal walls for $900. Having a large family and a house with a dark roof/bricks we wanted to do what we could to block noise/heat and wall insulation can't really be done later... Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 293Mar 29, 2014 6:36 pm We got a quote for SoundScreen from Wisdom as well. Cost for R3.1 Soundscreen between First Floor and Ground was $4,455.00. Adding R2.5 Soundscreen to all external walls was $5,120. Matt1 - how big is your house out of interest? Just wondering why our pricing came back higher. The interior is 43 squares (400m2). About 2/3 of that is Grounf Floor so that makes it rougly 130m2 between the floors. We stuck with the standard insulation on the exterior walls and put the soundscreen around bathrooms/kids bedrooms/garage etc. Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 295Apr 01, 2014 12:32 pm cpaces, Beautiful photos and Good luck with the move to your new house!!! Do you mind letting me know the name of the brick you have used? It looks like the one we have chosen (Earth from the Symmetry range) few days ago at Austral. Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 296Apr 01, 2014 12:35 pm Yes. It is Austral Symmetry Earth. It's an upgrade but it's worth it for us. We're still doing the landscape. The rain hasn't help too but it's getting there. Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 297Apr 01, 2014 10:15 pm Very happy for your lovely home, cpaces. Just wondering, what is your plan for landscaping? Are you getting a landscaper to do some work and you will have your weekend DIY project? It will be interesting to see how much cost can we save on DIY landscaping. Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 298Apr 02, 2014 1:56 pm Thanks for the kind words. ppp4411. Landacaping wise, we're using Instyle Landscaping for our landscape. Specially the retaining wall for us in corner lot. The retaining wall is one big item in our landscaping. I didn't know people are interested with the landscaping. I'll see what I can share. . Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 299Apr 02, 2014 5:08 pm Hi cpaces, Sure, a lot of people are interested in the landscaping (including me) as I think the majority of us cannot afford the big quotes from builders. I wish you finish soon and only spend your time enjoying the new home cheers Re: Building Aspiration 35 Wisdom Homes at the Ponds 300Apr 26, 2014 1:30 pm Hi cpaces - my wife and I previously build with Beechwood Homes 3 years ago and are now building with Wisdom Homes in The Ponds also (Aspiration 29). From the look of your house and the landscaping firm you went through I am sure I drive past your house regularly. Our land should be registered within a month and we are about to complete our tender presentation. My main concern is price of additional electrical, data and entertainment. We want alot of extra power points and I am looking at supplying all my own downlights, pendants etc along with in wall speakers and cable (if necessary) and just have them install. Did you end up spending alot on electrical/data? and did they supply all the fittings? and I assume the answer would be no, but did you ask if you could bring in your own electrician and did they allow you to run your own speaker cable? Sorry about all the questions! Thanks, marknbet Second Build @ The Ponds Wisdom Homes Aspiration 29 Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted.
