Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 16, 2014 2:16 pm Hey everyone so I have decided to start a thread about hubby and I experience with building our first home. With months of looking around and a fair few floorplans in mind about what we wanted we finally both agreed on the Sierra by simonds. We saw the display home in Blakescrossing and fell in love with the layout and how homey it felt. We sat and spoke with Haydn and he assisted us in everything we needed and wanted in our house my expectations were quite high with what I wanted but needed to do on a budget. We got everything we wanted within the price we were willing to pay. Next step was finance that was approved Jan 6th 2014 and are still waiting on settlement date which is February 20th not long now can't wait for build to start will update as often as I can as progress is being made. Feel free to post your home experiences on this thread I would love to hear them Thanks for reading Samantha and Scott Re: simonds sierra south Australia 2Feb 16, 2014 2:33 pm Great choice guys, it is a lovely house (of course I'm going to say that....we picked the same!). We're up to internal painting and tiling. Have you had your selections appt yet? Re: simonds sierra south Australia 3Feb 16, 2014 3:13 pm Yes I was in my glory there so much to choose from good pick of house btw you have great taste too hehe hehe Re: simonds sierra south Australia 4Feb 16, 2014 4:01 pm Welcome! Congrats on your house choice (very nice). We are also building the Sierra up at Mt Barker, we had a lightbulb moment after going through the Blakes Crossing display and ditched our plans just to build it! Haydn is fantastic and played a massive part in everything going so smoothly so far The other staff have all been delightful and so helpful as well. Wishing you all the best with your build, so looking forward to seeing it progress. Sounds like it's all happening now. Please keep us updated. I'm really interested in how it goes for you Samantha And don't forget photos. Are you building north, south, east or west ... established area or new land release? Re: simonds sierra south Australia 10Jun 14, 2014 10:05 pm Oh sorry in blakeview grove so north of city Re: simonds sierra south Australia 11Jun 26, 2014 8:56 pm Hey Sam, what are your windows please? Make and series? And how's it looking now? Re: simonds sierra south Australia 12Jun 26, 2014 9:07 pm Dowells windows I think. All windows but 1 is in. there was bit of a mix up where we changed the sliding door in ensuite to the 4th bedroom but they put a window in bed 4 so they now need to order 1 more window. Roof Tiles started today and by the looks of things should be done by tomorrow or early next week. It's all happening really fast! I'm not sure how to post photos up :/ Re: simonds sierra south Australia 13Jun 26, 2014 9:35 pm Thanks. Gee, it's all happening. Time to learn to post piccies! OK, I just tested how to do it. This is how: Set up an account with http://www.photobucket.com (very easy, just read the SIMPLE instructions). And UPLOAD to Photobucket (it's so easy)! Then 1. click on the recently uploaded photo to make it big. 2. right-click the photo and select 'properties' 3. copy 'Address(URL)' 4. paste the URL into your post here in the forum. 5. Select the newly pasted URL and then click the Img button above. Can't wait to see what's happening! Re: simonds sierra south Australia 15Jun 26, 2014 11:45 pm Give it another go Sam, you'll get there! Sorry about my instructions Have another go ... just edit your post. Re: simonds sierra south Australia 16Jun 27, 2014 12:01 pm actually with the photo bucket it's even easier open the photo you want to post, on the right hand side you have a few different links, click on "Direct" and then on H1 in Full Editor mode click on IMG and paste your link. Also, if you have your photos on facebook, you don't need to upload them to photo bucket just copy link from there and post here the same way (before posting check your link so it has .jpg at the end of it) First house - Statesman Greenock (modified) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66876 Second house - Fairmont Grand Design (modified) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=100789 Re: simonds sierra south Australia 17Aug 05, 2014 8:38 pm LOL thanks Vladmari, me and my goofy, complicated instructions -- you're right, the easy instructns are right there on PB.
