Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Ellenbrook - Early Stag 7Feb 14, 2014 11:16 am We were the same with our kitchen, it was the main room of the house we spent money on because I'm the same as you love cooking and it will be such a nice wow factor of the living areas I really like how you've put the kitchen sink at the end of the island bench, such a clever idea it gives you such a good work space Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Ellenbrook - Early Stag 8Feb 14, 2014 2:35 pm Also building with Redink so looking forward to following your build. The paperwork stage seems to go on forever but once you start seeing some action on that block you will forget all about the waiting. So far so good with Redink I haven't had any issues so fingers crossed it's all smooth sailing for the rest of the build. Good luck with it all & I hope it all speeds ahead for you Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Ellenbrook - Early Stag 9Feb 25, 2014 6:58 pm Timeline:

We were away in February, guess that's why i missed your initial post. Love your plan!!! And now i looked up the bristol and can't figure out how it's escaped me. Thought i'd looked at every display on their site a million times, and the bristol kitchen is completly the look we're going for, so looks like we're heading to byford this weekend ours is based on the new georgia display. our sales rep was great and let us see it under construction so we could see what the floorplan looked/felt like. Thanks for the tips about the prestart selection list, i just emailed my rep. Just about a week ago we were told our site costs were done and plans out of drafting, going to prestart dept for contracts. They said approx 2 weeks, so we'll see. They've been pretty accurate with their timelines, though towards the far end. Good luck with everything, we'll have to share notes. We upgraded a lot in our PCQ and included a hefty prestart allowance, but now that i've looked at taps, basins, etc i've got a feeling that allowance will vanish quickly. Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Ellenbrook - Early Stag 11Mar 24, 2014 5:05 pm We definitely need to start hitting the displays I think to start looking for more inspiration haha. We progressed to the prestart dep't on Thursday so hopefully within the next two weeks the interior designer and prestart will be booked!!!! I've thought RI have been great with timelines so far, don't want to sing their praises just yet though haha something is bound to happen!! Yeah we went to the supplier showrooms and have basically chosen everything we want, nothing standard on the downside but have allowed a nice budget for prestart as well. A lot was changed during the PCQ stage and a lot was included anyway so we should be ok! Anyway, I'm sure I'll be back on before my consults to get ideas and take notes on how yours went! Good luck, speak soon! Settling on the block this Thursday, eeeeepppp, mortgage time!!! Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Ellenbrook - Early Stag 12Apr 02, 2014 3:27 pm I assume you've settled on the block by now, congrats!!!! Did you get a hold of that pdf with prestart stuff? I asked my rep about 2 weeks ago, and he's usually really quick. I think he asked someone in the office ot send it, and now of course it's taking FOREVER Let's hope we both get our contracts etc this week. Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Ellenbrook - Early Stag 13Apr 03, 2014 12:08 pm We did, settled on the block last Thursday, seeing the mortgage is the only bummer haha. Yep, I received it basically as soon as I emailed him. Wasn't that helpful too be honest, just a print out of the online stuff. The list of suppliers they used helped as we've been to look at their showrooms etc. I just got an update re the contracts/prestart: "Your home is currently with the accounts department preparing your payments schedule. Once the Prestart department receives this they will finalise your contract and post this to you. They will normally contact after they have sent the contract. I would think you would receive your contract documents next week." So hopefully next week we can book in the ID consult and prestart, well here's hoping anyway haha I'll be overseas as of tomorrow for a week so hopefully don't miss anything, although i'm sure we won't! Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Ellenbrook - Early Stag 14Apr 03, 2014 12:17 pm I guess you're ahead of us, since I haven't seen an email like that. All I've been told is that the prestart dept is finalising our contract documents and they'll be posted out when they're completed, blah blah blah Hopefully you'll have a nice surprise waiting for you when you return. I guess I don't mind the waiting so much, just wish they'd be more accurate when telling us what to expect, and that I didn't have to contact them to find out what's going on. I expected everything to take forever, just hoped for good communication, since that is something they can control. Fingers crossed!!! Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Ellenbrook - Early Stag 15Apr 05, 2014 8:21 pm Finally made it out to byford today. The Bristol is fantastic. I love the exterior colour scheme and the kitchen, so gave me lots of great ideas. I've a good feeling this coming week we'll both have some progress. Positive thinking:-) Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Ellenbrook - Early Stag 17Apr 08, 2014 2:09 pm Melsie68 Yay byford you could of told me you could of had a pep at my house lol Oh I wish I'd thought of it. Though I did drive around looking at houses to try and get exterior colour ideas so maybe I saw yours. I did see a lot of RI signs up. At first I thought, oh great lots of people are building with them must be a good sign. Then I thought, oh a lot of people are building with them that's why everything is taking forever Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Ellenbrook - Early Stag 18Apr 11, 2014 5:05 pm Prestart booked for the 1st of May, very excited!!! Need to get all our ideas together now haha and book in our ID consult before then! I think I'm way more excited then I should be haha. PROGRESS! Re: First Home Builder with Redink - Prestart Booked!!! 20Apr 11, 2014 8:20 pm See I knew this was the week we'd both all our stuff!!! YAY! We just booked in our design consult for the 8th of May. Wanted to wait until after school holidays so we don't have any kidlets around and didn't want too much time between consult and prestart so we don't change our minds! We're still unsure about a lot of things and the general consensus seems to be to go to design appt with at least a pretty good idea of what we like. We have an appt at Caroma tomorrow to look at all that stuff. Oh the exciting life we lead:) Hope you're celebrating tonight! Congrats on progress. 1.
