Anyone building at Eden Grange Riverstone?

Morning all, Cameron & I were just talking, we were thinking who is gaining from all the interest made from our deposits just sitting there on the land? Is it the land owner, Eden brae or cap corp? we handed owner $32,000, so with everyone else's I'm sure they are making a bit of money from that too especially over the period that a lot of have been waiting.....

I found out Eden brae opened an account in my name with st George bank . When we handed the money we were told the interest is divided between both the owner and Eden brae evenly . So they are making money out of it but I don't believe this is the reason they are holding us up because we are considered a small estate and they could make far more money in others estates.
So shellstar I would check if they have opened an account at st George in your name or your husbands but you will need to go into the bank for that . I only stumbled across this when I cancelled my credit card I had and they said did you want all your accounts deleted . When I said I only have the credit card account to my suprise they said you have so many thousand in this account . ( I thought we won lotto I was ready to cash in lol but unfortunately it was already my money )

I believe the land deposit goes to capital corp. there is some detail in the contract where it states that after a certain date the interest made on the deposit is split between the land owner and the purchaser. Collectively it would be a nice little earner, but I don't believe this is what has influenced any delay.
The bank acc, is that a trust acc to be used during the build? For progress payments?

Yes, I remember our solicitor advising me about a trust account and splitting of interest earning.

We prefer "Woodland Grey" and "Monument" as our fence colour. We are happy to go with majority.

It would be good to understand your fence colour preference too. I am operating under the assumption, that everyone in the estate will go with colorbond for fencing (which is the preference of most, I think).

A couple of people mentioning a blog got me thinking. Should we consider a more permanent form of social communication like a Facebook page or Instagram ?

I wish nextdoor.com was available in Australia!

Rizan, looks like the majority like colourbond...we still like the ezyclip wood fence...but if we did go steel woodland grey looks good, also like basalt or shale grey..anyway colour is going to be a hot topic. Sometimes wish EBH jus made the call and did the same throughout..

You have hit the nail on the head I get so angry when I think about the house to the point when people ask me house the house going? (for the last 3 years ) I find myself getting so annoyed I have to ask them not to talk about it . The only way I have dealt with it is by not thinking about it at all ! When I then explain that nothing has changed they then tell me I should get out of it ( which we can't ) not that we would if we could .
Me and Tammy were so excited for the new year to start and we're being really positive thinking we will definitely be in by Xmas 2014 but after the conversation with our csa on Friday that's not looking promising .

Have I missed something I thought that the outlook is good for all 70 houses built this year. Has something changed?

Facebook would be a good idea. We can create a page that is by invitation only which won't be visible to everyone. It will be a lot more secure for us.

If everyone is happy to use Facebook as our network site, I will be happy to create a group page setting the privacy setting to "secret" which means that only members who are in the group will see the page, who is in the group and what members post. Does this sound like what we are after? If you are happy with this, email PM me your details so I can find you on Facebook and add you to the group once it is created.

Yes Kim, good idea....we have one for school and invites only can access the page, also notifies you when a post has been made so you don't have to check constantly. I will private message you :-)

Hi All
Regarding the St George bank they do set up an account and you do get interest as when I had my tax return done last year our accountant had a statement from the ATO to show what interest was earned for the financial year so we do get a little bit
