So power point got done today. After being told since dec we were working towards end of Jan for PCI – this has now been changed to the ‘week of the 3rd’. So frustrated. We have been very patient, but given the only thing left to do is to fix the broken tiles and put in the a/c control panel – I am so confused as to why the PCI needs to be delayed? Lots of people did PCI with no a/c panel / some even no electricity! Haha. What I find more annoying is that given they have all of next week to do TWO minor jobs – why cant they at least give us a set PCI date? Come on?! Everyone else gets a fricken date! I would at least feel a little more positive if I can see that they are actually pushing towards a concrete date… rather than just shifting dates likes they are currently doing. Anyway – I don’t feel so silly now booking leave from the 24th Feb – it is looking more and more like this is around when we will get keys. I keep being annoyed by the fact that this house was effectively finished before xmas with only services, stove top, one missed powerpoint, garage door and a/c control panel needing to go in after xmas My theory is that the trades aren't really earning any money coming back to fix little things/errors etc., so they don't prioritise it, they would rather do a big job that's paying them money. We have little things that have needed fixing for ages and they're just not getting done, and I think that's why. If my theory is correct, you can understand it from the perspective of someone who's got to pay his bills etc, but it's verrrrrry frustrating to us, the new home building peeps. Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 591Jan 25, 2014 11:50 am [quote="asj25"]And the cherry on this poo day is that someone Has left actual poo all over our toilets So sad now /quote] God, that is so gross!! Like, total disrespect, f*ck you loads of it, or they've just used the toilet and been typical men and not used a brush amount of poo? (not that they should be using it at all, and not that there would've been a brush to use had they had the inclination! Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 592Jan 25, 2014 11:51 am cedes75 Our slab went down beginning of june and handover is start of Feb, so we are at 8 months too. What annoyed me was our SS said at our PCI that they are now completing houses in 18 weeks!!!!!! Oh and him saying he wished he'd pushed and had it done by Christmas cause they are having trouble getting tradies back to work. Like we haven't had enough delays! Some people have no tact do they?! Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 593Jan 25, 2014 11:56 am asj25 Argh that is so annoying! It must just depend on your SS right? I think we had Prestart within a few days of each other hey cedes? But you waited ages for bricks? It just so annoying to have the house sitting there when we have to keep paying rent. More aggravating is that they are mainly just fixing their mistakes now . In total they missed two power points, one phone line and the a/c control point. Wth? This now means a whole lot of tiles in the laundry and kitchen have been removed. AND this means retrofitting my lovely subway tiles which I didn't want the builder touching (hence why we outsourced!). I am so torn - do I let the builder try and fix the tiles or do we try and get our tiler back in to fix? This is why we are TRYING to get them to fix things as we go. we are lucky that we live close to our build and that my husband (John) is a tradie so has lots of other tradesmen at his disposal for advice. Our Redink tiler has just started - just built nib walls etc., not done any actual tiling yet - but he comes across as very thorough and concerned about doing a good job, and he thinks about what he's doing. e.g. he built a nib wall to spec, then called John and asked if we wanted it smaller as it looked rubbish at that size. Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 594Jan 25, 2014 11:59 am Ah that sound a good Mandy. The tiler sounds really proactive! Yeah I can't believe they rendered over so many of our points! They were originally there, we just didn't pick up until later on. Though I can't believe our SS didn't notice we were missing so many points! We have raised issues as soon as we see them, but they don't action. As soon as door went in we said it was wrong, we were told 'oh we will replace that later on'. Now we are told that they will just replace the glazing?! But this still isn't done Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 595Jan 25, 2014 12:03 pm asj25 Ah that sound a good Mandy. Yeah I can't believe they rendered over so many of our points! If you leave it until later it creates more issues - see your power points/tiling for example. Arrrghhh! And breathe! Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 596Jan 29, 2014 9:24 pm So nothing has really been done this week. Apparently all the jobs are the things 'they do at the very end' I feel like yelling 'ARE WE NOT AT THE F******* END?' Haha. Apparently still waiting to hook up power?! But I don't understand why that means they can't fix the front door etc. So they think MAYBE PCI next week. At this point I just want them to set a date and stick to it. This has been a much longer build than anticipated given the relatively small size of the house and the fact that it was pretty basic from redinks perspective ie no floors/no render/no fancy frontage/no paving /no painting. Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 597Jan 30, 2014 5:54 pm What work is left to do? Fix up the tiling, A/C panel, and front door? Chase that PCI date.
