You can also do any framing from the underside in preparation for skylights etc as well. Whoever is doing the roof replacement should also come beforehand so they can look at the roof framing from the underside just so there are no unexpected surprises when they whip the old roof off. I'd also run this past the sparkie in case he has to drill down through the top plate to run wires.
