Re: Neighbours be gone ... part 2 - fence extenders 8Sep 28, 2008 10:32 pm ahuang Good job Matt! Do you need the neighbour's consent for doing this? What if your neighbour is ***^# as mine, and just in case they don't like it for whatever reason and wants it to be taken down?? We spoke to them a while back and suggested it. I showed them what I was doing along the back and other side and said I would come up with a good idea. I spoke with their daughter who helped me remove the screws on their side (her first time every using a power tool!!) and she thought it looked great. I am yet to talk with them but I am sure they will love it too! Re: Neighbours be gone ... part 2 - fence extenders 9Sep 28, 2008 10:34 pm donuts Nice one Matt! Did you try to get them to pay for half? How is the other side one going? Hi Donuts, LOL! no...should have. I figure half for the fence but because I wanted it higher I should pay. We go it fairly cheap too (DW is hooked up!!) Re: Neighbours be gone ... part 2 - fence extenders 10Sep 29, 2008 6:31 pm I spoke with the neighbours tonight and they 'LOVE' it!!
She was wrapt as they were able to leave their blinbds open all weekend and they lost none of their view. They were taken aback when we said we didn't want any money for it. Very appreciative indeed. I told them it was nice to have dinner with my just my family for a change again they found this funny too. The moral to the story .... buggered if I know but if my neighbours are happy and my wife is happy ... I am happy!!! Perhaps that's the key? Re: Neighbours be gone ... part 2 - fence extenders 12Sep 29, 2008 9:19 pm is that a 5 foot fence before the extenders?
Our estate has a requirement for 6 foot fence so hopefully it blocks out our neighbours!!! Re: Neighbours be gone ... part 2 - fence extenders 13Sep 30, 2008 8:13 am You are a handy bugger, aren't you!
