Re: We are building our first home Amalfi 528 - Mainvue!! 191Oct 31, 2013 9:02 am Emptyspace Thanks guys I cannot wait to move in CW! Hopefully in a few weeks!! Are you enjoying your new home? Im looking fwd to your pics...we are really happy with the build overall and are enjoying decorating it, still underway on getting the outside work completed...we hit a big snag on that front, but i wont bomb your thread with that. Re: We are building our first home Amalfi 528 - Mainvue!! 192Oct 31, 2013 2:19 pm Oh I just saw your thread! That is terrible, I hope VCAT will help We are just confirming the date for our New Home Presentation, for either Thursday or Friday next week!!! The day has finally come. I don't have any more pictures but will post some when I do. Can't wait to move in already! Re: We are building our first home Amalfi 528 - Mainvue!! 194Nov 03, 2013 12:41 am txateu, it would be safe to assume 4 weeks work once the painter finishes his part. Typically SS try and refrain from giving out dates, just so that they are not 'under pressure' to complete by then. Re: We are building our first home Amalfi 528 - Mainvue!! 195Nov 03, 2013 11:30 pm You are right CW, our SS was very reluctant to give a date. He did not even give us a time period. So good news it that we are hoping to settle on the 11th of November if everything goes well!! So excited, started to do some furniture shopping! So many things I want. The front render is almost complete! I am actually quite happy with it. I was so worried about it. They need to finish the side of the garage which they forgot to originally prep. The doors and windows have also been stained. The carpet has been installed and looks great from the outside, haven't been inside to see it yet. Outside paint has also been completed. Oh the clothes line has been installed but it is so high that my husband and I can't reach it! It will have to be fixed. Here is a few photos of the outside. Thoughts on render? Wooohoooooo IF you want an honest opinion of the render...mmmm...for me it's too dark. My eyes are fixed on the columns every time I look at the picture. If that's the intention...then totally awesome for me I prefer lighter shade for the render....anyway...what do I know....Im a complete nub at picking colors What color stain is that for the windows and doors? Will you also be doing your own decking on the front and back areas? I've been reading up alot on it and will be giving it a go myself. Worked out the materials itself will prob only cost $2-3K but if you hire someone to do it, it will cost approx $10K to do the front and back. What are you thinking for the driveway?? Exposed Agg? or Stamped Concrete? Pretty excited for ya ES ...not long to go. Re: We are building our first home Amalfi 528 - Mainvue!! 197Nov 04, 2013 1:44 pm We did go for a darker outside and lighter inside. The stain we went for on all the doors was a rich chocolate (I think that's what it was called) The drive way will be a plain charcoal I think. No stamping allowed in the developers requirements. We have looked into decking and will use some diy decking tiles for $$$ reasons Re: We are building our first home Amalfi 528 - Mainvue!! 198Nov 05, 2013 1:00 pm Hi ES I think it looks really good. It works as a feature to the facade. Waiting for more photos now....finished product....lol. We are still waiting for work to start on our site. Another thing...R u getting ur driveway done urself or from MV? Did MV provide you with the clothes line? Re: We are building our first home Amalfi 528 - Mainvue!! 199Nov 06, 2013 10:32 am ES - personally, i reckon the render does look dark, but it is an easy fix post handover, we don't like our secondary render colour, after speaking to the painter, he mentioned it can be changed quite easily and cheaply. Kamiabhi - please correct me if i'm wrong, but I doubt MV does driveways or clotheslines. Re: We are building our first home Amalfi 528 - Mainvue!! 200Nov 06, 2013 1:54 pm I'm eagerly anticipating for more pics to be uploaded Mooooore please Cant give recommendations in general with that builder, but during the colour selection, this is honestly personal preference. Depends on the style you want. Do you want… 1 1164 I second taking your plans elsewhere. They're yours (unless you ended up in one of those cheaper arrangements where you don't own the rights and the build will be tendered… 2 798 Soak wells and electrical run in happening this week! Summit has told me they will relocate the laundry plumbing after the walls are completed. I'm actually pretty happy… 13 38029 |
