Good job Re: Our Half Acre Heaven- slab pics 192Oct 20, 2013 3:42 pm TinaG woohoo! Love the size of the kitchen We wanted it to accommodate both of us, as we often cook together when entertaining. Also it had to be big enough for a chopping block in the middle. I think I am looking forward to seeing the kitchen most of all... Serialbuilder Have they given you any indication on timeframe for this build? Coming into summer there are no excuses. You deserve a speedy progress trees. The SS said he anticipated handover march/early april. Sounds good to us! greenfish Good design makes houses seem bigger than they are. Good job We love that there's no 'wasted' space but at the same time I have already started to cull out a few pieces of furniture - got rid of our kitchen table and a modular lounge so far. The rest I will do once we move in if necessary. Re: Our Half Acre Heaven- Slab is down 193Oct 27, 2013 11:22 am Treeseachanger Thanks Cinder, I hope so too. We met up with the SS who impressed us by taking about an hour with us on site to go over our plans and make notes, he already had a good knowledge of our plans and even picked up on something that had been missed by drafting. I should have a slab pic soon GF!! The ones we have don't show the whole slab, didn't realise it at the time! Should have a better one to post when my darling gets back on saturday. Here's a pic of the little retaining wall we built around the shed/garage site. We used the ironstone on the block, I was shattered after a few days of crowbarring boondies out with a star picket and helping push the wheelbarrow full of rocks, I ended up on lighter duties, filling in the gaps with smaller stones. The garage pad will be poured tomorrow or Friday, weather permitting. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ nice retaining wall. I recognise those "lovely" rocks. sigh our entire block is packed with them. back yard size of at least 1/2 an acre and its all just rock. still bonus is the weeds grow slower and not as thickly. hope you have more soil than us. Looks like you have or you'll be using a crow bar to help with plantings like we have to. Would love to see the changes you've made to your plans. Quote: Yes the star picket comes in handy as a crow bar on our block too! but we seem to have a mix of clay, sand and soil. Kexkez, I will try to take a photo of the original plan sometime for a comparison if that's what you mean? I couldn't resist posting a picture of my first garden bed, since against all odds I have flowers!! The red petunias must be hardier than the yellow as they aren't flowering yet. Cosmos and beetroot are coming up but hard to see. Look closely and you might just spot a lettuce Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We now have a shed, evening haze walls, surfmist roof: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ (Roller doors are yet to come...) and we have some walls!! His small trailer will fit behind his car as well - he checked. Once he gets his big storage cupboard, benches, filing cabinet and shelving and sink plumbed in there he will still have heaps of room. There will be a pot belly stove for winter, and his section will be lined, so it will be quite a cozy man cave, lol. I did draw the line at him wanting to air condition it though - told him a breeze and a pedestal fan would do! So wish we had a nice big shed here. I want the garage back so I can park the car in it. Or to at least be able to use it as a dry, clean storage space for all the household stuff you want to keep but don't want in the house. Darker on the swatch, lighter on the wall (unless it's glossy paint, since any light then reflects off it making it appear lighter to the eye). Kexkez, I took the photo in full sun so that is as glary as its gonna get ie. not at all. It just has a low sheen on it. But you're right, we chose the colour for coolness and to blend with our house colours & the setting. I'm really pleased with it! We don't want bushes too close to the tank cos of dampness and rust becoming an issue. But yes, we will do some landscaping in the garden bed where now all my petunias are flowering! And we now have the roller doors and flyscreens installed. Because it's a new estate the setback for the tanks wasn't decided upon straight away. So when we were asking it was 5 metres from boundary. Other neighbours have theirs smack on the boundary so it's visually and spatially much better. "sigh". of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23777 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23896 |
