Great builders! I would lean toward a black/deep charcoal leaving the sidelights white. It will pick up on the black of the lead while IMO the blue door will probably detract from the lovely blue glass. Or, leave it white so the blue glass POPS. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ IMO black is stunning as a front door when the door is level with the front facade, as in SCGirl's pic: not as is the case here- where it's set back. That's because black/charcoa/navy tends to recede. Would a smokier blue complement the leadlight colours? You wouldn't want to detract from them. Re: Classic style weatherboard Melbourne - Leadlighting's in 336Oct 07, 2013 2:38 pm Thanks Treesachanger. I couldn't do black as it's too severe for me, and as you've suggested our front door is set back. I think it could work either way. We'll go with our original choice (baby blue) and if it looks terrible we'll change it I guess. I guess I went against what a lot of people recommended, but hopefully you all like it. The large format subway tiles look fab, too; a modern take on the original. I like it. Floor tiles NOT in the diamond pattern.
