Building with Dale Alcock in Ashby 28Oct 06, 2013 12:22 pm Looks like this place does them. http://www.doorstorewa.com.au/interior-doors/ Will just have to amend the plans slightly so there is 2 courses along the wall between entry and lounge to hang the sliding door from Anybody had an industrial style door fitted? Building with Dale Alcock in Ashby 29Oct 06, 2013 2:16 pm Those industrial look doors are great but I think they have their place. I'd be wary of overcapitalising if this isn't going to be a forever home. I can't imagine they will be cheap. You have to think of your potential market when you come to sell and I think a "statement" piece like this can cut down on your perspective buyers. In the burbs, especially, buyers are likely to be young families and although those doors have wow factor, I think some people will be put off by them/ find them impractical. Hmm.. yeah I think you're right.. Might get a door still - but something a bit more understated than a big steel one (glass maybe)... Have to keep reminding myself this isn't necessarily for just us and someone with kids probably wouldn't want a splintered large ex train door... ... especially in the back of wanneroo hahah! Oh and our plans are in the drafting dept. I think I forgot just how much all the waiting kills you! Building with Dale Alcock in Ashby 32Oct 11, 2013 9:43 am Hi wrethm01, I've done some researching and I can't seem to find one in our displays or anyone that sells that style. Sorry! Patience is a virtue in this building game, but eyes on the prize, it will be worth it! Shannon Dale Alcock Homes. We love building. Building with Dale Alcock in Ashby 33Oct 11, 2013 10:13 am Jumping in on this thread. Love anything to do with subway tiles and vintage/mod country/industrial/cottage styles. Re: Addicted to Building! Building with Dale Alcock in Ashby 34Oct 12, 2013 2:57 pm I actually like both those lights but if i had to choose it would be the 2nd one. And that industrial sliding door is fabulous but looks very $$$. If it wasnt my forever home i would hold back. Not sure if the people looking at the house to buy would appreciate the monetary value of them! But they are gorgeous! Now im wondering where in my house can i put something like that? Might have to build a fancy garden shed out the back oneday with some!!! My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Addicted to Building! Building with Dale Alcock in Ashby 35Oct 12, 2013 3:57 pm I love the style! I will probably put some touches in like I did last time with furniture (and probably that second light for the kitchen and dining ! ) but I will probably leave the slider off - i imagine it will be quite pricey for that. But we will see - maybe I'll get a bit excited haha, or find a carpenter friend to hang something for me (and then all i have to find is a piece to use as a door (maybe an old train door from somewhere). so many ideas. Drove out to the block today, few houses going up now which is cool most of the blocks are quite small so it'll be interesting to see what people put on them (they are pretty awkward shapes too - strange subdivision).. Oh and thanks for looking into it for me Team DAH - I'll have to go show home hunting again and take a photo when i find the place I saw it in (it may not have been a dales so that could have been it haha).
