Slab Heave Recipient
So 12 months on - can you please now update us on what the slab and levels are like now in your house? Did it return to the levels it was intended by making the amendments that you did?
The whole process was a disaster. The builder Burbank Homes came to the house over 30 times and for the most part did poor and substandard patch up / cover up work to the house. I had to chase them repeatedly to get anything done. We have 2 subsequent engineering reports that note much of their work hadn't been done properly and should be done again. Some things were "repaired" 3 or 4 times because they were continually done so badly and because the house kept cracking. Every room in the house was significantly cracked. We couldn't sell it without disclosing the truth about the condition it was in and lost everything because we decided not to lie. We chose Burbank Homes because we didn't want to get caught up with a small unknown builder, and this was the worse decision of our lives. We have repeatedly asked for compensation from them and they ignore us.

Sorry to hear about the outcome. What is next for you? Did you end up selling? Might be worth renting it out and negative gear it as much as possible until your financial situation improves. I'm moving back to Melb in a month and might have to get back on my builders back with the engineers report although i'm not looking forward to it.

What a disappointing outcome. You might want to get in touch with the people below and tell them your story:
Have you tried complaining to your local member for Parliament?

Asking is no good. You need to force the issue, and this will be thru legal action (if it is possible) afyer an initial letter of demand.

I have already written on this forum that slabs are a con of the century, a profit printing machine for the builders. Why would they build timber floors or equivalent…
