Lighten it, fluff it up a bit. It also allows the soil to soak up water very well but assist in reducing the effects of water logging in heavier soils. It, like zeolite, reduces nutrient leaching. They act a little different but have an overall role to play in the garden. About 1ltr per m2 would be lots. I'd be inclined to use less but it won't hurt or damage anything if you over do it. Because now when I step on the turf some of it sinks in, the soil below it has gone soggy and moved around, creating small hills in the turf.
