I'm still waiting for technical drawings, but it looks like our builds might happen at similar times. I wonder if they will let me book prestart from now? I don't want to be all ready to make my selections and then have to wait even longer! The more time I have, the more time there is to second guess my choices. Just want to have it over and done with! Re: First build with Redink Homes 12Sep 15, 2013 5:25 pm Hey PanRaptor apparently they can't book prestart until they have finished your contract & drawings!! I asked if I could book it while hubby was home (he is FIFO 26/9) they said they could get us in to do the design consultation but they were booked up until mid October for prestart but I would definitely give them a call & give it a go anyway you might have a different Prestart lady that isn't as busy!!! Re: First build with Redink Homes 13Sep 15, 2013 6:04 pm Hi Torz, We're building with RInk also. I would build out the western wall of Bed2 and have full width storage with sliding doors. Delete the current linen cupboard and move the entry to hall way there instead. Also thinking about the nook between garage and laundry, if the doors were moved to the main wall, that cupboard in the laundry could be extended another 900-1000mm to the main wall. Looking forward to seeing your build progress. Ps. Just remember there is no wrong or right way . It is your house so you can make it however you like . Re: First build with Redink Homes 14Oct 15, 2013 3:53 pm Well Pre-start is Thursday & have gone through 'things you forget' thread with a fine tooth comb!! We are thinking now about having a hob less shower in the ensuite, what are everyone's thoughts as we don't really know much about them but like the look!? Also we are going 2 tone gloss cupboard doors in the kitchen, are we looking at a big upgrade price? I am so excited but also nervous at the same time as worried that all our extras are going to add up & blow our pre start allowance Re: First build with Redink Homes 15Oct 15, 2013 4:02 pm Torz1980 Well Pre-start is Thursday & have gone through 'things you forget' thread with a fine tooth comb!! I am so excited but also nervous at the same time as worried that all our extras are going to add up & blow our pre start allowance Hey Torz1980 We went with the hob less shower mainly because I find them so much easier to clean. We paid around $1400 but that included both Ensuite and Bathroom Showers as it was going to cost us the same price just to get Ensuite done. RI explained this is because the cost is for a special reflux valve that is fitted to the sewer. We were disappointed with this cost though as our friends paid a little over $700 with a different builder for essentially the same thing! Re: First build with Redink Homes 16Oct 15, 2013 4:41 pm Hi torz. Good luck with pre start. We've got hobless shower in our recent pcq and it's$1495, but as above poster mentioned that valve is good for both. I love the look too and hoping we can do it, but one of those items on our list that might get dumped if we hit our budget limit:-) Re: First build with Redink Homes 17Oct 15, 2013 6:27 pm Torz1980 Well Pre-start is Thursday & have gone through 'things you forget' thread with a fine tooth comb!! Re: First build with Redink Homes 19Oct 17, 2013 11:35 pm Prestart was great we just got a price for EVERYTHING on our wish list & thought we would delete what was over priced & could do cheaper after handover or not really needed & to be honest we didn't have to delete that much!! We had a $15k budget & went over by $200 so not too bad I think our kitchen is costing the most & we ended up doing the hobless shower to bathroom & ensuite too. But very happy now it's over & done with just want them to start now Re: First build with Redink Homes 20Oct 18, 2013 12:03 am Yay, glad it went well. By the way I absolutely love that stone looking tile you picked out for ensuite. Just saw that in a 101 display house and took lots of pictures. I still have no idea what vibe we're going for with design stuff, maybe it's good that pre start is really far away:-) hope it all moves quickly for you from here. hi guys. Please be nice.
