You'll have to share some piccies Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 107Sep 07, 2013 11:46 am Yes pictures Well done and congratulations! Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 108Sep 07, 2013 1:39 pm Oh yay congratulations Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 109Sep 07, 2013 5:32 pm I will post up some pics next week once our flooring goes down- can't wait to see that! It was a great feeling though to drive up this morning with the keys in my hot little hand. The street was rather quiet for a change given the storm this morning, which was nice considering we'll have a fair bit of construction around us for a while. I just ordered our temporary blinds- sure beats putting paper on the windows, I just hope they live up to my expectations! Still boxes everywhere, but hubby and I are both working long hours so really only have the energy to get things done around the house on weekends. He's loving being able to use the drill wherever he likes lol. Really need to sort out our front landscaping and finally get a letterbox too. I'm feeling very indecisive about window treatments at the moment, but the temporary paper blinds we've got are doing a great job (much nicer than newspaper!) so we don't need to rush into a decision yet. It's great seeing your build coming along so well. I'm recognising the rooms from ours and it's exciting to know how it's going to look when you get to the next step. It will start feeling like a proper house very soon Celebration Homes (The Polaris) Trinity, Alkimos https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65339 Current Status: Handover!!: 06/09/13 Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 114Oct 09, 2013 2:49 pm A couple of photos from when the floor was installed. We didn't want anything with a red, brown or yellow look, so this was perfect. Almost a driftwood like colour which is lovely and neutral. The colour is called European Silver Oak; Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The colour of the stone benchtop isn't right in this picture, the lights above it are rather yellow. Also its coming along, just wish it was faster! Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 116Oct 09, 2013 4:00 pm No the floors are floating timber laminate boards. I'm so glad we opted for an upgrade on the laminate - it's so nice to walk on barefoot! Less echoes too. I love the look of hard wood flooring, but wasn't willing to do the maintenance required, so this was a good solution. We don't have any carpet in the house, so I'll be on the lookout for some nice rugs soon too Celebration Homes (The Polaris) Trinity, Alkimos https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65339 Current Status: Handover!!: 06/09/13 Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 117Oct 09, 2013 4:47 pm beemdoubleu No the floors are floating timber laminate boards. Re: Our castle by the sea - first build in Trinity, Alkimos 118Oct 09, 2013 4:58 pm We were pretty impressed with the wood look tiles we saw in one of the Celebration display homes, but ultimately we thought the floating timber would be a little more forgiving if things get dropped on it! Obviously have to be a bit more vigilant cleaning up any spills, but at least you can replace individual boards if needed.
