However, it looks as though we've had a lintel stolen (our SS reordered it) so this may affect finishing the portico. The timber for the roof frames was due to have been delivered today and we should have a roof carpenter either later this week or early next week. I'm pretty frustrated that the weather has taken another turn. I hope it's back to clear skies and sunshine next week for our roof carpenter. We're hoping to drop by the block tomorrow so I should have some photos of our finished brickwork to share! My sons pirate party on Saturday and I want my colorbond installed next week hehe Re: First home build with Dale Alcock in Aveley: External wa 192Aug 27, 2013 2:23 pm fancy pants Our hot, young, Irish brickies were there over the weekend trying to finish up the bricklaying before the weather turned again. I think I'm going to put a formal complaint into the office! My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: First home build with Dale Alcock in Aveley: External wa 193Aug 27, 2013 10:40 pm Looks like the hot Irish boys may be around for a little while longer - we're still missing a finished portico and our planter box! We dropped by today while the weather was absolutely miserable and got a wee bit drenched. It was still great to see our rooms taking shape. The roof timbers had also been delivered so we have our fingers crossed that next week will be blue skies and sunshine so our brickies can finish and the roof frame can go up. No surrounding glass or feature, just the two doors. We're looking forward to seeing the portico too, butterbing! We've already received the bill for achieving plate height, due within 10 days of this coming Friday. I'll take that to mean the bricklaying will actually be done by then.
