Family room lounge looks super comfy as well. Thanks cinder - yes family room is just lovely to relax in especially with the wood fire going on cold days. inglewood Love your lamp table! Great idea - just wish my hubby could make a metal frame like that! Timber - no worries, but metal is a whole new story! Thanks Inglewood, metal is very different to deal with but lucky my hubby has lots of tradie mates that owe him favours. Treeseachanger I was happy to see how you'd dressed your bedroom bay cos I've been thinking about a similar combo for mine, side drapes and shutters or side drapes with the up-down cellular blinds... I'm interested in knowing if the shutters do a good job blocking out the light? Are the drapes just for looks or do you pull them over? Hi Trees, so excited that you finally have some movement on your place. I really love the shutters, I actually wish I had put them in more rooms. We went through a Busselton company and out of all our suppliers he was hands down the nicest most professional person we dealt with. Our bedroom faces east and at the moment the shutters are fine without the curtains drawn. They are not complete block out but definitely the same as a roller or roman. However I think come summer we will pull the drapes as we will get morning sun straight on that window and hubby likes it quite dark. Hope that helps you. Serialbuilder Thank you for the pics. So many of them already !! and I just can't believe how organized you are. You sure you got kids charnley? lol Your home is so spacious!!. Bet you're loving it all. The shutters turned out awesome didn't they?!. Can't believe you've got curtains over them as well. So classy and homely. You must be totally exhausted, (or you're running on pure adrenalin?) you've achieved so much in such little time. Amazing. It's looking so nice and welcoming charnley. We are getting there slowly Serial but my to do list keeps getting longer, not shorter bradster181 WOW! The pelmets and curtains I love and this is from a bloke....Your bay windows look really cool You have dressed your new home really well in my opinion, love the feature in the skirting boards even. NEVER ENOUGH PICTURES, looking forward to the next update Is your Mum all better now? Thanks Brad - yes I love curtains I think they just finish off a room. However I am now in love with shutters as well. Thanks for asking about Mum, she is doing really well actually got clear bill of health from the cardiologist, a very lucky lady. Tracyw Oh, and I love that arm chair you have in your lounge, I want one for my study, just for me! My wing chair for all the reading I would love to do but never get a chance to. Window seat - yes please we actually had one priced up by the carpenter. $1800 thanks very much, hence why we don't have one yet. It was that or lawn - I went with the lawn Scotty Dog, enelya, SB, rocky, thanks all for your lovely comments. I have some more pics to post. Its such a slow process. Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild -Update 370Aug 26, 2013 11:02 pm So here are some more pics. Our lawn is going so well. Followed the Fu's advice to the letter and the lawn has really taken off. I also think it helps that we have had great rain. Our mantle is still sitting in the shed, hopefully this weekend for that project. Due to the rain the render hasn't been finished on our front fence but we have had quote for the iron work and gates- up to $3000 difference in the quotes so it definitely pays to shop around. Pendant lights for the kitchen are still in their boxes that may be the next job after the mantle. Some pics of the house and some pics of my little girls play kitchen we made for her birthday. Hubby did a fantastic job. I'm the same, I love shutters, but not sure if I can afford a whole house of 'em!! Our bedroom faces east, too. Funny how we both have an east window bay! I came across a DIY suggestion for the window seat: I have a carpenter son so probably don't need to use it, but here's the link in case you're interested: http://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/how-to ... index.html You never know, hubby has done such a good job with the play kitchen...next, the window seat, maybe?? If you could, please pm me the company name in Busso? Wow, you look so settled already! The bed came up great, and that wood floor, mmmmmh. (Yay for the rain, hope we can get our shed up and our tank filled soon!) Looking forward to the next instalment! Well done. Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild -Mantle & Garden 376Sep 11, 2013 12:13 am Hi All
Oh I am so hit and miss with my posting. Now that both the kids birthdays are done and dusted I can get back on with house progress. Finally next week we are getting our wood floors refinished. When they coated them for some reason best known to themselves the builder didn't put the weatherseals on any of the doors so we have hair, dirt and all sorts of stuff stuck to our wood floor. They have finally agreed to rectify it. bradster181 Great update, I did notice the extenda line already in the garage, who's afraid of the rain now! Well done. I have 3 clotheslines. I know its a little over the top. . jibs House is looking fantastic. Thanks Jibs Serialbuilder Lucky kids, bed and kitchen are every girls dream. Clever hubby. Oops I'm repeating myself every time haha Thanks Serial - Yes kids are loving the backyard. Now only to get some nice sunny days so we can really enjoy it. Tracyw Great job with that kids kitchen! I reckon u guys are pretty handy and you can definitely make your own window seat. More kitchen photos please!! Yes Tracy I know. I will take some this week even though our pendants aren't up yet or they may never get taken. Trees I have pm you the details. I hope that tank of yours is filling quickly with all this rain. So we have our Mantle up, So love it. The room looks more finished now. However I have to find some artwork for over it. The lawn is looking great and we spent last weekend gardening. So will add some pics. Then off to catch up on everybody else's progress Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Garden at the front we have put in an Indian Summer Crepe Myrtle with a Hedge of Metrosideros Dalese (Dwarf NZ Christmas Bush). I will also add a border of Liriope Muscari Isabella when I can find some and well as some standard Pope John Paul Roses. Down the side of the drive we have the hedge again and Standard Gardenias. Out the back we have put in a Frangipani and a Birch. There is a lot more to go but at least its a start. I love the finish fire place and your garden looks like it will be perfect once completed with your mentioned plantings Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild -Mantle & Garden 379Sep 11, 2013 12:29 am It's beautiful Charnley, all those gorgeous plants will look so different in 12 months. You'll have to post again to compare. Terrible to hear you're having flooring issues too. Such a pain to have to shift furniture to accommodate someone else's stuff up.
