Hi all,

Thanks for having such an awesome thread! I'm learning lots as I read through. I'm just wondering if anyone has upgraded their kitchen to the "ultraglaze" cupboard doors and if they had a rough price for that? I'm building a Villina Grande but assuming the size of the kitchens do not differ that much

We upgraded to the Ultraglaze and it was $890. We also upgraded the cupboard heights due to the higher ceiling (otherwise the bulkhead is bigger to meet the cupboards) and that was $500.

Dream_home, love the Savoy facade.
We went driving around The Ponds the other week to look at bricks. It's such a hard choice.
I will have to go to Warwick Farm to have a look how they have done the stack stone as our inside pillar runs flush back to the door so i tjink we would have to do the stsckstone all the way back. We are changing the facade slightly so that the verandah part will be smooth and flush like the Jazz.

I got 18kW Temperzone for my Villina 32 without extra charge. Because in our tender they list details of the Aircon as category "G". When we had appointment with YHAC, they gave us 13KW and 11 outlets which is Category "E". After we queried to the M. They offered 18KW Temperzone with 14 outlets as the tender. But we still paid $1264 for add 4 extra zone. Everything in writing in your tender, the M will do it. So make sure all your requests are clearly written in the tender and plans.
We still has problem with the external outlet incorrectly installed to the alfresco, because it was not clearl by writing. Even the colour selection consultant said she rembered our request, but the construction coordinator insisted us to pay $500 (reduced from $1000) after construction variation fee plus extra cost.

No, Temperzone we have is not an inverter system.

Included (M package deal) was 14Kw 2 zones, we upgraded to 18Kw for approx $3000, to allow for 4 zones.

I think Temperzone is re-branded Hitachi manufacturer.

Post some the newest photos. The electrical wiring is completed. The insulation will be started next week. I haven't seen the Aircon installer.

ugly waste drain pipe of the ensuite on the rear wall, not shown on the plan, so I planed 2 lights on each side of the sliding door, now I have trouble to select the suitable lights, any suggestion? just wondering why the M could not hide this pipe? another waste drain pipe of the main bathroom is hidden inside the Laundry wardrobe.

The reson they do not exist on the display homes, because display homes do not have any plumbing installed. ::hyst::

Reason? The customer, that's us, never see them, because I believe they do not exist, they are done on the fly as the plumber sees it fit the easiest and the quickest way. It is ridiculous that we do not have a say in it.

Lucky our design and plan did not have any waste pipes, otherwise I would have ask for refund ::frown::

When you ask, M calls it "project home" and gets away with it.

Month since we moved in and we already have some room gyprock corners & cornices cracking. Normal I presume, as the house is settling. Anyone else just moved in experience this?

We also have cornices and gyprock cracking throughout the house,especially in the bathrooms but M will not fix it even though it was on our 3 month maintenance list as they say it is acceptable and unavoidable due to the house settling, so they do not repair it unless it is more than 1mm wide(also the building code of practice states that anything from 1mm and under is acceptable)so you just have to fix it yourself or put up with it.How things have changed in the building industry in the last 10 years,its now all in favour of the builders.We still have problems with some of our ceilings and we now have no choice but to hire our own people and pay for it ourselves to have them fixed.

If you haven't paid the deposit your sales person can extend the tender period, I also had this extended.

Hi Ben and Lisa,

I'm just wondering whether you had to pay a fee to extend your tender period? We were told that if we paid an extra $3K we could extend the tender up to 270 days but I think I would prefer to take my chances if need be. Just wondering if this was the case for you?

No I wasn't charged, but I had only a 3 month extension, but seriously 3k is ridiculous, the current price increase isn't that much, also the newer pricing includes taubmans endure paint $?? and sediment control plan which is $250 and a few other perks, also when you do decide to go ahead ask for free upgrades (appliances and carpet), do this before you pay anything and remind them that due to this price increase you are still in a position to take your business elsewhere.

Woohoo!!! Had a walk through this morning and house should be completed in three weeks. So glad that we are finally getting there - seems like forever.
We are finally going to get a neighbour on one side too - still dont have the other side or the back yet. :z:

Today we had the plumbing the peering and form work done, I'm sure the slab will be poured by the end of the week, I haven't spoken with my supervisor but I've been in contact with masterton coordinator and she has told me the dates tradesmen have been booked to be on site.

Hey that's such a shame that m aren't all over it, the leaking shower would p you off every day, and for the small cracks both of these are cheap repairs but would be massive for customer satisfaction.
