I want to start now!! Fancy pants - have they still not given you a start date?? Our CLO emailed us yesterday to let us know about our brick delivery. I told her that I heard there were delays with brickies and could she give me an approx start date. She said she would let me know as soon as she heard from SS but shouldn't be delays??? I am not holding my breath and sounds like most are in the same boat at the moment! I will cross all fingers and toes!!! Hehe! We have brickies as of today - 9 days after bricks arrived, a month after the slab went down. Hopefully you'll have a similar ETA! Our CLO has been really good with communication so far so am hoping we find out soon. Re: Burns Build-Dale Alcock - Bricks !! 125Aug 03, 2013 12:08 am CLO called The Boy yesterday to arrange a time for site meeting with the SS for today. When we rocked up the brickies had been and gone. Posted a couple of pics on my thread. We tend to not get a lot of warning from our CLO! Re: Burns Build-Dale Alcock - Bricks !! 126Aug 03, 2013 12:26 am Wow that was quick. Yes I think maybe they only get told last minute. Wednesday I got the email to say bricks will arrive this week and thought let me just check on way one from work and low and behold all there. Wish I had a brickie start date .... Re: Burns Build-Dale Alcock - Bricks !! 129Aug 13, 2013 12:36 am Still waiting for brickies..... Did a drive around our suburb and a few DA sites have bricks delivered and no action. I think one site up the road has been waiting longer than us which concerns me as I am thinking they will probably get before us. When I drove around burns today there was a lot of activity on a lot of sites but all the Dale alcock ones I saw we're deserted .... Re: Burns Build-Dale Alcock - Bricks !! 130Aug 13, 2013 11:03 am We noticed that on the weekend too! We weren't expecting to have brickies on a Saturday but almost all of the sites did. Except ours. Even other DAH sites were going great guns. We're contemplating leaving strategically placed chocolate brownies in order to entice our brickies back. Re: Burns Build-Dale Alcock - Bricks !! 131Aug 13, 2013 11:38 am This part is frustrating isn't it! No more paperwork holding you up, just a shortage of labour! Hang in there, it won't be too much longer. Your completion guarantee has started so Dales won't make you wait any longer than necessary. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - friend of mine built with DA in Landsdale and he had to wait about weeks between slab and the brickie getting on site. Hopefully you won't have to wait much longer now. Re: Burns Build-Dale Alcock - Bricks !! 133Aug 18, 2013 6:44 pm Any news Tbrown? Re: Burns Build-Dale Alcock - Bricks !! 134Aug 19, 2013 10:48 pm Hi TBrown, just wondering if it's all system go and you have your brickes? Re: Burns Build-Dale Alcock - Bricks !! 137Aug 21, 2013 12:16 pm Hi Tbrown. Just thought I'd find out where everything is at with your build. I received an update from your CLO saying that after the slab was left to cure for 7 – 10 days. the drains then have to be installed and connected to the sewer before the brickie's can start. So she said that there have been works going on, but not work that makes a big visual difference. The bad weather affected and delayed the brickies work for yours and many other homes annoyingly... but they're back in the swing of things this week and will be due to commence set out on your site next week. Yes everything was going great guns in the first few weeks - we live nearby so could see progress and deliveries happening. And then the rains came...... Just feels a little frustrating to see a number of slabs around us laid weeks after ours and they have walls! Unfortunately I understand it cant be helped. CLO has been keeping us informed which is great and advised the team is due on site the end of this week. Fingers crossed. Re: Burns Build-Dale Alcock - variations fee ? 139Aug 26, 2013 4:48 pm Yay! The brickies officially started today! It was raining but they were there - 6 weeks exactly from when slab was laid. It was great to see action at the block and now the excitement is back on track !! I had a chat to our CLO last week when she called to set up an appointment with our SS and I asked if we could potentially change the carpet colour we had chosen. I thought at this stage there may be a variation fee but didnt quite expect it to be $300! Just wondering any other Dale Alcock builders out there if you have had any changes of this type and what the variation fee was? Thanks T Re: Burns Build-Dale Alcock variation fee ? 140Aug 26, 2013 5:39 pm We wanted to change our internal doors at one stage but were told it was too late. We did upgrade our bathroom benches but im not sure if we weren't charged a variation fee or if it was incorporated into the upgrade cost. Probably the latter. $300 is ridiculous but I have seen on here another builder charges $500!
