Makes sense. Now to decide if I care about joins or not haha Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI delayed :( 1086Aug 01, 2013 9:02 pm Like you mention, its been a good build on the whole keep with that mental model and stay happy. Nearly there Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI delayed :( 1087Aug 02, 2013 12:19 am Leanne each that's what we have to decide, we have one wall that is over 6m without a corner or other interruption.... And then I think does that mean they would use some of the smaller off cuts to reduce their costs... Why do these things have to be so complicated?! Bradstreet I am trying very hard not to let house stuff stress me too much and try and see the positive And in good news the paving has started! The HW system has been installed along with the kitchen tap. They still have the linen cupboard sliders to put in but they have done a mini kind of bulkhead to where the sliders will go in. I think we will save ourselves the extra $1k as we have so many things to do post handover. Plus that will cover the extra glass splash back I want to add Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI delayed :( 1090Aug 02, 2013 3:05 pm fmac Well I knew it must be too good to be true! Got a call from our CL today to say we can't have PCI on Friday and it will now be next Wednesday Apparently the SS has been let down by a few trades and they won't be finished and cleaned by Friday. What I find frustrating is they just don't care that after they booed us in my partner took holidays based on that date and we booked the painter. Everything else has gone so well and it's been a pretty smooth ride so I guess something had to eventually not go to plan! I hate how builders don't understand that people have jobs they can't just take a half day off at the drop of a hat, I'm a teacher so this is more so for me. Add to that the latest they will do is 1:45 that means a half day off work as I have to go from bull creek to pearsall. Moan over!! On another note I have a 5th quote for skirting and this one is also the sub $1000 mark. Now to work out what the ones charging double that offer!! Oh man that's so disappointing Fmac...sorry to hear! You have to learn to deal with delays, but the one thing you don't want to be delayed in ,is your PCI...I would be sooo annoyed as well. House is looking great by the way:D Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI delayed :( 1091Aug 02, 2013 6:53 pm So our PCI is booked in for Wednesday morning. Went and checked the house today and from what I can see they still have to finish paving, linen sliders need installing and the painter needs to finish the front door and put the handle back! I've ended up having to take a day of leave without pay to be able to attend so if they postpone it again I will not be as polite! We also got our final invoice today. Our final payment has come in $2000 less then what it originally would have been. I'm hoping this assumes the bank will give us the difference so our mortgage is fully drawn down?! Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI delayed :( 1092Aug 02, 2013 7:03 pm Sorry to hear your PCI got delayed, its so so frustrating I feel your pain as the same happened to me and I also had trades booked - painful! Not sure about your final invoice query I would've thought so but who knows with banks these days! Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI delayed :( 1093Aug 02, 2013 7:14 pm Scott's Dog yeah I just find it frustrating, if you don't think it's going to happen don't book it in! Though I love in our final invoice later saying we shouldn't book trades till after we get keys as handover could be delayed, so they want you to wait weeks to get things booked in cause they can't get their act together! So a few pictures, they have cleared the alfresco ready for paving Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And you can see e new dropped part of ceiling over the linen cupboard, not sure why it wasn't done to begin with. You can also see my left over vinyl planks (not happy with the, being shoved in like that!) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm also going to ask the SS if they can leave any of the leftover and dug out clean sand so we can use it as fill in the backyard, quite a bit has been washed out of the backyard because of them using the back side of the block for access and when they did the soak wells. Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI delayed :( 1094Aug 04, 2013 12:08 am 4 more sleeps. How annoying for you. But as you say you've had a good run.....doesn't change the fact that this is not good. It looks so finished to me, he's really not leaving anything left undone for PCI is he? Hope it goes well despite the delay Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI delayed :( 1095Aug 04, 2013 12:26 am It is frustrating but will be happy it's done! When we questioned the CL about why we couldn't have inspection Friday and she said it was because they like it to be complete at inspection. So we are hoping we might manage handover in under 10 working days if there isn't much to fix and we can get the transfer from the ba sorted You house is looking beautiful! Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI delayed :( 1096Aug 04, 2013 12:30 am Think of how great it's going to be when you get those keys. Everything looks fabulous from your pics! Building with Dale Alcock Homes in Aveley Our thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63880 And yes, my pants are indeed fancy. Re: Our small build (NOR WA) - PCI delayed :( 1097Aug 04, 2013 12:33 am I can't wait to have those keys in my hand! I'd booked the painter in based on Friday being the first inspection WCs is why I'm hoping handover can happen in under 10 days! But I have given him a heads up. Now to find someone to do the skirting and how much we are willing to pay!
