Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 01, 2013 12:26 pm Good morning all
I have been quietly stalking the Aveling builds plus other builders for over a year now and thought I would finally create a post with my own build process. Nice to finally see some Aveling build threads, a year ago there was none Bit about myself. Family with 3 children, this build has taken so long that since signing I have fallen pregnant and now have a 3 1/2 month old baby lol So me and my family have been living at my inlaws house, 5 of us in one small room, you have no idea how much I have been wanting this house to be complete. We did look at renting but found it very hard to find a house and after several applications, we decided not to bother as I was heavily pregnant and in no mood to move. So already this process has taken over a year and we have been given a date of mid october so I hope they stick to it. Had many set backs, one which was because Aveling took so long to process everything and I was obviously pregnant, the bank would no longer look at my income. We got past that hurdle only to find out that we dont have enough money in our loan to finish our house (construction is fine) its the floors, painting ec, even though the lender assured us he made sure there was enough money, my fault for not looking at the figures more closely but in defense, I was having contractions and about to deliver. Enough of the the bad stuff, lets see the good. PICTURES, I love pics and enjoy looking at everyone's build and prestart colours. That is one massive ensuite (and toilet, will you make it a powder room down the track?) you have there! Just so you know, when you're in photobucket and looking at a pic, on the right hand side there are little boxes that you right-click on to copy the link. If you click the bottom link, and then paste here into your thread, it will come up with the actual picture, instead of the link. Not sure if you can be bothered with all the pics you've just added, but for future pics it's a handy thing to know Look forward to following your build progress, and hearty congratulations on the birth of your wee little bean Our thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64272 Purchased land August '12 Titles Jan 27 '13 Prestart - Jan '13 Re: Aveling build in Carramar 3Aug 01, 2013 1:04 pm Lovely floorplan. and I thought my ensuite was big, yours is huge hehe For photos if you copy the IMG link from photobucket it will show photo directly on this page Re: Aveling build in Carramar 4Aug 01, 2013 1:22 pm Here's hoping it's done by mid October! It will look great when done, it looks you'll have a good amount of yard space too. Re: Aveling build in Carramar 5Aug 01, 2013 1:31 pm Hi momomo and Leanne, Thank you momomo she is precious, been wanting a girl for years Thanks for the tip, I love it when the post has the pics on the page Haven't even thought of making a powder room, what a great idea. The ensuite is massive, I'm not actually I big fan of how open the bathroom is but I had to let the other half pick some things lol. I have a feeling I will change it latter on lol. So Im gonna use your October estimate Congrats on the bub, hope everything goes smoothly from here so you can move asap! Re: Aveling build in Carramar 11Aug 01, 2013 2:19 pm You will be going from 5 in one room to this big house, you won't know what to do with yourself! All the best with an early finish! By the way, love the outlook at the back, is that a national park? My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Aveling build in Carramar 12Aug 01, 2013 2:32 pm Hi xxkatxx and Tracyw I feel like my plan is small compared to my neighbours, their houses are huge, more for them to clean lol. How do they get such different dates, fingers crossed for you it is earlier Tracy we keep laughing saying that when we first move in will we all still be in one room, won't know what to do with myself with all that space. I'm in a house with 8 people sharing the kitchen and bathroom for 2. 1/2 years. I really can't wait No at the back is someone's property, the estate we are in is privately owned by two brothers who decided to clear their land and sell it off. I hope the neighbour doesn't decide to do the same thing and ruin my view. Re: Aveling build in Carramar 13Aug 01, 2013 2:47 pm I was thinking the kids might not want to leave your bedroom! Good luck with that!! My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Aveling build in Carramar 14Aug 01, 2013 2:59 pm Yes they have gotten used to it, but we keep talking about how great it would be to have their own room and how they can decorate it to make it special just for them. If that fails then they will just have to do what dad says Re: Aveling build in Carramar 15Aug 01, 2013 3:31 pm If anyone has used promenade essa stone in their kitchen I would love to see it, I haven't seen anyone use this colour yet and It was my selection Thanks Re: Aveling build in Carramar 16Aug 01, 2013 7:09 pm Drove past today and saw the plastering had been done in the main bedroom, study and hallway entrance, not sure how far back they have gone, they were still working Re: Aveling build in Carramar 17Aug 01, 2013 7:38 pm Hey 3munkeys! Good to see your build Plan looks great, and that big block is to die for! With your kitchen, do you know if the cupboards have been ordered? There was another thread on here, Donna, and she had to change from moose as apparently they weren't making it anymore :/ I sent an email to my prestart girl asking about it, I never got a reply, and I'm sort of hesitating asking again incase it slows down their already slow paper work Look forward to following your journey for the rest of the way My build: viewtopic.php?t=62001 My Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62001 Re: Aveling build in Carramar 18Aug 01, 2013 8:41 pm Hi Jaceb Thanks, I love my block, there is another 15 big blocks being release at the end of the year and a waiting list of 150 people, it's hard to get big blocks these days. No I haven't heard about moose not being supplied anymore, the moose is for my wet area bench tops, since my prestart was 8 months ago I will be pretty annoyed if I don't get it, it matched the innovations range panels that I had to pay a fair bit extra for. You would think that if it affects us they will let us know sooner rather than later. Love your plan, it was our visit to landsdale that made us pick Aveling. Hope your build runs smooth Re: Aveling build in Carramar 19Aug 01, 2013 9:54 pm Hi 3munkeys, just found out about your thread, love your plan and the massive ensuite!! Colour selection looks great too, will follow your build closely Re: Aveling build in Carramar 20Aug 01, 2013 10:28 pm Hi Janicec I have been following your progress too, some of your prestart selections are the same as mine I love my spa bath, that was a must, nothing better than laying in a nice hot bubble bath with a book and glass of wine to end the night, although I have forgotten what wine taste like now, been over a year and still have awhile to go before I can have some Such a nice community here on the forum Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17628 You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want. Cabinetmakers use MDF because its cheap… 2 9971 |
