Should we email Ray Hadley? I don't listen to him or his radio station. However I do know that he is a Hills resident and would love this info. I emailed him a few years ago when it was my parents anniversary and he aired it straight away. Maybe he could do something about it? (Stir the pot a little) I have made various phone calls to Sydney water and Council today. Both are blaming one another. This charge is unfair and ridiculous!!! Re: Rouse Hill,The Ponds & Kellyville- Sydney Water land cha 12Jul 18, 2013 8:04 pm Hi all I'm meeting up with another resident on Saturday so any ideas of what to do next to stop this charge will be welcomed!!! This charge is ridiculous and unlawful and I believe we can stop this charge!!! Cheers Heather Re: Rouse Hill,The Ponds & Kellyville- Sydney Water land cha 13Jul 18, 2013 8:20 pm Hey here is our draft letter to give you some ideas. This is customised to North Kellyville a little, but feel free to use what you can. ------------------------------ To whom it may concern, We are new residents in North Kellyville and are writing in response to the charges from Sydney Water for the quarterly 'Rouse Hill land charge'. These charges amount to around $5000 spread over 5 years. We strongly object to these charges being passed on directly to us as new residents and feel that permanent infrastructure such as this should not be charged to select residents. For Sydney water to single out the new residents of an area only to pay for the cost of infrastructure that all residents, both past, present and future will use, is simply unfair. This represents a slippery slope and establishes a dangerous precedent, which can only end in the metering of water leaving each property! Clearly this would be ridiculous, and the sensible approach to the problem would be to include the cost of infrastructure back where it belongs - in general government spending. Additionally, we feel we are already burdened with the initial and ongoing costs for both a rain garden and rain water tank as is required by the North Kellyville DCP. We are already forfeiting over 9sqm of our small block of land to facilitate the required storm water retention the rain-garden provides. This has affected our use of space - position of our house, visual appeal and we estimate over tens of thousands of dollars across our 30 year mortgage in dedication to this rain-garden. We feel that this alone is more than our fair share towards storm water management and urge you to review the combination of these costs for North Kellyville residents. We call on our representatives at all levels of government to take the bureaucracies of IPART and Sydney Water to task, and restore the balance in favour of the average resident, already struggling with housing affordability. The Rouse Hill area of Sydney is a known growth area, and has great potential to grow and generate great revenue to the state. The growth areas of Sydney need to be encouraged not discouraged, for the good of all Sydney residents. --------------------------- Good luck! Re: Rouse Hill,The Ponds & Kellyville- Sydney Water land cha 14Jul 18, 2013 8:58 pm Sending letters and complaints to all of these places is fantastic, however I still feel that along with that information we require a well known spokesperson not associated with the govt, but well known in media to voice the concerns of us residents. We require some sort of action relatively soon, not in 5 years time when we (the new residents in new developments) have already paid for this ROUSE HILL LAND CHARGE that EVERYONE in these suburbs are using!!!! Any ideas would be fantastic. Re: Rouse Hill,The Ponds & Kellyville- Sydney Water land cha 15Jul 18, 2013 9:00 pm Agree with you all. It is not fair to charge new residents only! It's ridiculous! We have to bear the cost of the gigantic 9000ltr water tank as well, now this? I'll send the complaint letter to all the emails shown above. Someone mentioned setting up a facebook page, that might bring more attention to this issue and get more people on board who are not on H1. HD Re: Rouse Hill,The Ponds & Kellyville- Sydney Water land cha 17Jul 18, 2013 9:23 pm I'll make a facebook page now as well. here we go: https://www.facebook.com/ResidentsAgain ... LandCharge graphic designer needed...! Re: Rouse Hill,The Ponds & Kellyville- Sydney Water land cha 18Jul 18, 2013 10:17 pm I sent a complaint e-mail last night. I received this response from one of the local members: Quote: To say I am appalled about this charge being applied to new home owners in my electorate is an understatement. I have worked closely with our government for the past two months, since IPART originally announced these charges and I believe the matter will be resolved very soon. Quote: I am confident this charge will be addressed very soon so as to minimise the impact to hard working families in our area. Hopefully that means something positive is happening. Keep up the complaining!!!
