There are a few things we would have liked to change after construction started if we could have. I don't think it matters what your building or who you are building with I think you all go through the same thing viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Perth NOR OB - Roofing Nearly Completed :-) 34Jul 18, 2013 11:04 am Ok so our Roofing timbers are finished on to the Tin. Our plan is to finish the extension - effectively move into it and then renovate the original house (that's when I get my new kitchen) (I'm hoping to get to that during Autumn next year and just use the outdoor kitchen during that period. We decided not to borrow any money to fund the build but rely on savings instead - so the timetable all depends upon Cashflow as well. The Roof cost is approx. $45k which is why there was such a break between bricking and roof - however that's the largest at once chunk done - all the other bills should come in smaller (apart from the kitchen lol) and therefore quicker to save for Anyway Photo's Hubby's Garage Veranda outside Hallway And this is what the current Veranda outside our bedroom on the original side of house looks like for comparison - can't wait for this to be retro fitted Last one showing the bush poles etc in place viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Perth NOR OB - Roofing Timbers Completed YAY! 35Jul 21, 2013 9:09 am That hallway is going to be lovely with all that glass along it! Wow i admire your good financial sense and patience to renovate as the funds come in. A slow process but would be a nice feeling knowing that the debt isnt climbing. My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Perth NOR OB - Roofing Timbers Completed YAY! 36Jul 21, 2013 9:35 am Thanks Tracy I'm going to love the hallway as well I think......(going to fight with hubby re marking out electrical fittings today and the tin roof is booked for Friday) The only reason we can do it the way we are is that we are still living in our house and apart from sacrificing the games room nothing has changed for us - I don't think we would have been able to do it if we were renting as well,. Total cost of build to date is approx $130k and that is with some fairly substantial mates rates I must admit tho in the beginning I was thinking yeah it'll take a couple of years and that's. fine - now you have no idea how impatient I am getting and so jealous of everyone else's six month build times. Also makes you realise what the hell have I been doing with my money when I haven't been building! Lol! (Not paying off debt that's for sure!) viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Perth NOR OB - Roofing Timbers Completed YAY! 37Jul 24, 2013 12:58 am What a gorgeous location you have I'm very jealous of your bush poles!! You must have the patience of a saint Although it will take a little longer, you are in complete control and that is a big plus Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Re: Perth NOR OB - Roofing Timbers Completed YAY! 38Jul 24, 2013 3:16 pm Cheers SD yes your right it's nice being in control .....but the closer it gets the more tempted I am to borrow viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Perth NOR OB - Roofing Timbers Completed YAY! 39Jul 25, 2013 5:09 pm I should have gone to work today......This never happens when my husband is home it only happens when I'm at home by myself. Believe it or not originally the back wheels were bogged, but we managed to dig and maxtrax the back end out before we got a bit close to the other side of the driveway.
