We built a retained garden bed out of bricks and render with the idea of putting a fish pond in the lower section of it with some small gold fish and a water feature on the fence that flows into the pond. HELP NEEDED PLEASE ASAP 3Jul 29, 2013 10:41 pm Hi, Sorry I didn't see this earlier to give you a hand. The watts is the amount of energy the motor uses in a given period of time and doesn't really help you work out the the specs needed for each application. You need to look at the products specs for the flow rates at your applications head height (pumping height). To give you a reference point a normal house hold tap (garden hose) flows at about 15 L/min. I hope that helps 4 Pumps http://www.4pumps.com.au Re: Solar pond pumps? HELP NEEDED PLEASE ASAP 4Jul 30, 2013 2:53 pm The 'pond' is in the shadow of the fence; where do you plan on fitting the solar panel? The neighbour might not like it if you mount it above the fence and I wouldn't mount it on the house wall along a narrow walkway. Then again, I wouldn't be using a solar pump either. Your choice of pump and its viability depends on the amount of water you want pumped to the 1.5 metre head. If you have a 'sheet' overflow, it will have the appearance of a lot more water overflowing than the same volume overflowing in streams plus it would arguably have greater visual appeal. The pond will not have a lot of water volume once you put in some plants etc. Just be aware that a pump will also heat water. The saving grace is that falling water also cools. There are many fountain and water feature stores around. A quick Google should turn up something in your area. Good luck. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. HELP NEEDED PLEASE ASAP 5Jul 31, 2013 5:49 pm Hi y'all, I ended up purchasing a 10w solar fountain with a "head height" of over 2.3 metres and with a flow of 760l/h. The cable will run a short distance to the nth facing front of our home and sit on top of our garage sub roof. We def would of rathered getting a 240v to it but it just wasn't possible. All our lighting was on 12v but that's not powerful enough for the head height Forrester 43sq We have our keys (3/6/11) Now it's time to decorate (that's the fun part.lol) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37598 I looked into it a few years ago and my conclusion was to just build a carport that will support panels and get a system installed separately.
