Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 20, 2013 9:48 pm There may be a long time between posts on this thread, but I thought I'd throw it into the mix anyway in case anyone wants to compare notes along the way. We are building the "Rubix" plan, with coastal elevation, with Webb and Brown-Neaves. We signed PPA last week, but are planning to build slowly since we are committed to living overseas for 2 more years. I want to be the first one to live in my dream home! I will post here from time to time, but you can also follow my more self-indulgent blog about the build if you are interested. (Blog link in signature.) I'm not sure I would get anything done with a view like that. I would just want to sit outside all day. Goodluck with your build, I hope it goes smoothly for you. WBN have a good reputation. Re: Two story with Webb & Brown-Neaves on Mandurah Canals, W 3Jun 20, 2013 10:11 pm Love the plan!! Such a beautiful location. I stumbled onto your blog a while ago when you posted here about something else. I love you ideas for the house The kitchen/living/dining looks like such a great space to live and socialize in! Re: Two story with Webb & Brown-Neaves on Mandurah Canals, W 4Jun 20, 2013 11:03 pm Good luck with your build. Looks a great plan and what a lovely block! I really enjoyed reading your blog. You will probably need almost 2 years anyway - we signed our PPA in August last year and the builders aren't on site yet! Re: Two story with Webb & Brown-Neaves on Mandurah Canals, W 5Jun 21, 2013 8:26 pm Thanks all for your generous encouragement. I've checked out your posts and decided you all have good taste! Judydg, who are you building with? I hope you will have a thread soon. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Two story with Webb & Brown-Neaves on Mandurah Canals, W 6Jun 22, 2013 4:30 pm We are building with Hampton York - it is more of a traditional style home as we are South Perth in a street with mainly older homes. A thread might be an easier option than a blog so maybe I should give it a go! Re: Two story with Webb & Brown-Neaves on Mandurah Canals, W 7Jun 29, 2013 7:53 pm Love the plan, HBTW. Looks absolutely fabulous and sits so well on your block. Do your kids share bedrooms or will someone have the ground floor to themselves? judydg - I LURVE the aesthetics of Hampton York designs. I'd love for them to be our next build Building with Dale Alcock Homes in Aveley Our thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63880 And yes, my pants are indeed fancy. I think you are talking about the vanity unit we are having in our ensuite. If you want a closer look, it is on display at WBN's display home called the Azumi. Let me know what materials/colours you are going for. We will have a caesarstone bench top and laminate drawers. I'm not yet sure whether to contrast or match the colours of these two materials. The wood look does look good. I always wanted floating style vanities but thought that was purely a cosmetic decision. It turns out I'm wrong as my plumber explained to me as he is moving all the piping for all 5 vanities into the walls next week. Opps I've chosen the tiles I want stone bench tops (DH and I went backwards and forwards on either that or a solid surface top and basin but some of then these days look cheap and nasty ) <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Two story with Webb & Brown-Neaves on Mandurah Canals, W 13Oct 31, 2013 12:10 am A little update. We've finally signed the contract and paid the balance of deposit. Possibly we are driving everyone mad already with our slow pace. Prestart is booked for January 2014, when I will fly to Australia just for the occasion. In order to maximise the use of my time while I'm in Australia (and because it is fun), I've started planning the colours, tile, etc selections.
