Just wanted to ask though, as a standard inclusion throughout PD Prestige homes what Brivis ducting heating system do we get and what kind of wall controller does it come along with as well? Thanks For us standard was the mx35i Brivis ducted heating however we upgraded to the 5 star efficiency HX35i model so I'm not sure if that changed the controller. We didn't consciously upgrade the controller though. Ours is pretty basic, just has on/off button and up and down buttons with an LED display telling you what temperature it currently is. I can check the book to tell you what they call it if you like. Yeah if you could it would be much appreciated! Reason why I'm asking is that they've installed the basic one in our home but in the "New Home Care Manual" given us at PCI yesterday shows the "Networker" controller. On another note, I am a little disappointed at following two things that we were told that it isn't a "requirement" by PD during our PD yesterday. We've just been told to simply DIY or go to bunnings and buy it: - Rubber sealing/weather stripping for the front door not provided as is it not standard for front doors of PD homes? Really? On windy days that door does not stay still. - No hole provided to feed through our pipes for our washing machine into the taps positioned in the cabinets. If I had knew this beforehand I wouldn't have had them there in the first place, now gotta go around and find a saw drill to drill one. Anyone had issues with any of the above?! We have the same owners manual and it's full of info about the networker but there's a small section at the back about the manual controller, we definitely have the manual controller though. We are planning on getting the networker though so we can control the heat upstairs/downstairs a bit better (2 networkers and whatever else they do costs about $1K post handover) Re the washing machine cut outs, we didn't get these either and it was a pain in the butt to get those cut out. We used a hole saw and the smell getting through that laminate is BAD. We definitely got the weather strips to the front door though. Our door blew about in the wind before PD put these on now it doesn't move at all. I'm really surprised that you were told that! Doesn't make sense at all!! I thought I read somewhere that they do provide them and they definitely provided us with them. Re: Porter Davis homes 7488Jun 29, 2013 1:32 pm We were only an Access house but we were advised to upgrade the controller it was really cheap and worth it. Having said that it is also quite reasonable to get the controller upgraded afterwards. You might even be able to get a deal selling the old one back to them? Given the somewhat "limited" range at Hopetoun and the problems with the current selections, I am pretty peeved at this. Your choice of 39 different combinations of basin and tapware to master ensuite, ensuites and powder room. Where can you see the 39 different combinations? Can Lifestyle /Access people upgrade to these? Does anyone know anything about this? Has anyone seen it? Can we do a PCV as we have not started on site yet? I have asked my BC, no idea. wow - wonder how many of these would be 'standard'. Def interested - and a PCV would certainly be on the cards for us too! Let us know if you hear anything more I guess that means the nice oval bath in the displays is available again for lifestyle customers... might have to change our bath ... Re: Porter Davis homes 7491Jun 29, 2013 5:17 pm Just a bit of an update to our garage extension issue; marketing manager as referred to by Helen got in contact, said it cannot be done, also raised a couple other issues about twisted stories around the build which she was to be followed up, also was to follow up the extension again after money was mentioned and not wanting it done for free with management, missed her call twice due to year end at work, tried calling twice to which she wasn't avail, BC got in contact before that and said couldn't be done because the plans were town planned approved before the house and land packages were purchased - cbf'd arguing anymore with crap so i've let it go. Anyway, colours and electrical was 2 weeks ago, some issues around change of selections due to supplier changes, we had to choose a cat 3 brick in the Austral range as it was the closest brick to the cat 2 Boral brick we had initially chosen unofficially, and couldn't have surfmist windows as it's no longer avail, so had to go with dune. New carpet range also (no big deal with this one as it's similar). Electrical - after it had been mentioned our plans were already finalised for contract, they were not supplied/worked on for the colour or electrical selections.... Gripe with electrical - it states in our initial sales quote that the Opticomm package is included with our house and land package - At the selection, they said it "may" not be, it could be ~2.2k extra, you actually sign the invoice saying you authorise this charge - i've marked it with "Quote" instead and will follow up on another (which should be unnecessary) issue. I then sent off a list of items to have our BC quote the prices that way we could budget the build before contract in 2 weeks time, turns out the bricks will cost us more ($986 for the Boral CAT2 compared to the Austral CAT 3 at $1540), don't think we should really be a cost we should wear as the sales document specifically states Boral bricks, even if our build is due to start March 14. I'll be happy with the Austral but at the same price as the Boral - not sure if i'm being reasonable here? Also in the quote, the Town Planning issue comes up again.... *rolls eyes*. We had the salesperson amend the plans by adding a single rear roller door to the garage in lieu of the door- now this cannot be done because of 'town planning approval' according to our BC. The SC had checked and quoted this change at the time of signing the sales documents and stamping the plans... Now things change again. The SC did say that we couldn't change the window sizes at that time too, which we though ok, they weren't too much of a big deal. We also wanted 3 phase power to be run - we only require the cable run in the trench, our electrician will take care of the rest - got quoted $1100! seems extremely high just to run the cable, what has everyone else been quoted? Anyway, i've raised the above issues with the BC who has been good so far, i'll await the reply on Monday so see what happens; but it's getting pretty stressful and very annoying, especially when these things aren't even mentioned when you go to buy/leave a deposit for the house & land. Kinda like a bait and switch it seems. I'll also have a chat to our conveyancer. We have one Honeywell touch screen programmable which we will replace with std manual before selling this property. We paid like $120 on eBay couple of years ago. We were in houpten yesterday and would say most disappointing items are: 1. Standard cabinet handles range. 2. Standard WC. 3. Standard carpet underlay. They are just disgrace and insulting to someone who is going to spend $300k plus on building with PD. To make $35 from a WC upgrade, PD you are kidding yourself. If its some 3rd grade builder doing a ******* job, I'll take it but a company like PD, no way. I hear what you are saying We upgraded the handles to the same in the display Same went for the WC's, and also got the soft closing seats. We Respectfully declined PD's floors, carpets, and electrical appliances as we have opted to do those all ourselves. Re: Porter Davis homes 7494Jul 01, 2013 8:06 am Team PD tai27 Hi Tai, I have raised your concerns with the building manager and someone will be back in touch with you on Monday. Cheers, Helen Hi Helen, thanks for that. Though is that certain someone from the management team or simply our BS himself? Another issue that I'm quite unhappy about as as well is our shower mixer covers. We've got the mizu 1500 mixers (http://www.reece.com.au/m/bathrooms/pro ... bath-mixer) and ALL of the back covers come off (the circle backing) though according to our BS during our PCI this is normal. Could anyone clarify if they have one and if it simply just feels like it hasn't been stuck on properly and can just be pulled off? To me it's just like buying a mobile phone with the battery cover constantly falling off and the phone manufacturer getting away with it.. Just wanted to know on people's own experiences of their own. We have the 1500 series in our place will check what they are like on thursday. Building the Montague 21 by Porter Davis at The Estuary, Leopold. Let me know what happens with your mixer plates as well, according to our BS it's the way they are and are meant to easily come off if "physically pulled". The one for our bathtub "spins", but isn't easily pulled off but the ones in the showers (especially the one in our main bathroom) is simply coming off.
