Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Lara VIC. Fixing complete! 121Jun 03, 2013 9:31 pm That's ridiculous, they haven't even cleared the rubbish once, with the slab stuff still there! That's the one thing PD can do, clean up. But they don't really have much to clean up I suppose, they would need to do something to make rubbish!! Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Lara VIC. Fixing complete! 122Jun 03, 2013 10:31 pm Yeah ours looked pretty much the same. But when they did get around to it eventually, it was cleaned well. If it's not done in the next couple of days/weeks I'd be complaining! I've heard complaints from neighbours about the whole road from tradies mess. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Lara VIC. Fixing complete! 124Jun 04, 2013 10:39 am It's one thing I've been appreciative of - they've kept my place really clean and tidy. As its in an established area and I would like to continue to get on well with my neighbours I'm glad they are good about ensuring there isn't rubbish everywhere. I'd flip out if my site looked like that - as would my neighbours... it's certainly not good advertising for them either. Completed a knock down and rebuild in northern Melbourne. Fixing complete! 125Jun 04, 2013 10:47 am Our contract co-ordinator was right on it and last night it was tidied up a little bit, even the nature strip was cleared (they denied the nature strip was their issue btw).. I have no issues with it being messy, that is to be expected, just don't let it flow out the gates onto the footpath and across the road onto the neighbours land, who was taking pictures and going to complain about it.. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Lara VIC. Fixing complete! 127Jun 04, 2013 11:36 am nickvee Where did you thread go Bluesuede? I had it removed for a couple of reasons. Got annoyed with the contract admin last week (won't go into details) and decided I'd remove my free advertising - and there seemed little interest other than people wanting to browse through the photos so I figured I'll just do a full write up after handover and reinstate photos then. Fixing complete! 128Jun 06, 2013 6:45 pm I think the acid wash screwed our mortar color! I am so angry, i can't believe this after all the crap we went through to get the bricks done properly, the acid washer comes along and just f$cks it up anyways! Can this be fixed without the bricks being pulled down? Fixing complete! 131Jun 06, 2013 9:19 pm Before the mortar was acid washed it was a creamy color the same as below that window sill..it became yellow after the wash. They used yellow sand and white cement or Brighton lite whatever it is called.. I'm so disgusted right now, it is like this all over the house!! Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Lara VIC. Fixing complete! 133Jun 06, 2013 9:36 pm It's not just that the mortar hasn't dried yet? It seems it's been done for a while though hey. If that's the end result I wouldn't be too happy! It seems like a big job to fix so might set you back a little while. Is it only on the window sills or more? Clarify with your SS, even write a list if you feel it's necessary. Good luck.... it does just want to make you laugh after all the Bllcrap we put up with! Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Lara VIC. Fixing complete! 134Jun 07, 2013 9:43 am Window sills are usually the last things the brickies put in once the house is bricked as they have to cut bricks etc - i wonder if they used different mortar mix when they did the sills??? Fixing complete! 135Jun 07, 2013 10:05 am Nah they were fine untill they were acid washed, it's been about 3 weeks since they were initially done so they had heaps if time to dry, they were washed on Monday.. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Lara VIC. Fixing complete! 136Jun 07, 2013 10:25 am No it definitely looks like you've got lots of areas of severe staining from the wash. I just hope they can clean it rather than have to tear down the brickwork and redo it!! Completed a knock down and rebuild in northern Melbourne. Handover completed 27/09/2013 and now moved in. Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Lara VIC. Painting Started! 137Jun 09, 2013 5:28 pm Panic attack over! The bricks are just wet, some more so than others, the windows sills have already begun to dry up and are back to their normal creamy color.. P.S - Painting has begun!! Re: Our Burbank Lukin 2800 - Lara VIC. Painting Started! 138Jun 09, 2013 5:39 pm Well thats a relief about the mortar! Good to hear painting has started - ours is supposed to have started too. We've had people working on site all day yesterday (Saturday) and today as well. Getting close now! Completed a knock down and rebuild in northern Melbourne. A lounge, table and rug..we didn't need much as we have most things anyways.. This is the sofa, ottomon and chaise - we got a different material though, a lighter grey which doesn't look so much like suede. We will need to buy another small two seater, maybe in a different color, just to break it up.. and eventually a coffee table..
