I remember someone else saying that they had brickbond and the tiler stack tiled them as he thought that is how all wanted it. We are also doing brickbond, I have made sure the plans have it clearly listed, so will be watching intently when we get to that stage. I hear other builders get the tiler to meet with the home owners just to clarify the tiling before starting. Do PD do this? Would save a lot of heartache with errors! Not sure about everyone else but my SS did call to ask if I could go to the site to chat to the tiler to make sure the tiles & feature tiles are laid the way I wanted which was really good of him. We didn't get a call like that but our SS knows we're over an hour away so he probably wouldn't have asked anyway. Such a shame we couldn't get down to look at the build earlier and bring it up before they finished the 3 rooms! Our plans had everything listed clear as day! If he had bothered to read the plans properly there is no way he could have missed it. I think he was just on autopilot! Anyway our SS's manager offered to credit us back for the tiles but I just know I can't shower everyday looking straight at those tiles thinking "I wish they hadn't stuffed that up"! More info and pics on the blog if anyone's interested. Please insist on them re-doing it. I'd cry every time I had a shower if I was you. Credit schmedit! It was documented so they need to fix it. I agree here, they have entered into a contract with you that stipulates the requirments for them to deliver the tiles the way it's been specified in the plans. As the person before me stated, I would be getting them to redo it. The tiles need to be done as per plans. You will be reminded of this everytime you enter the shower and you shouldn't have to live with that. Sorry to hear this and its your choice how to deal with it but I really think you should get them to fix it, there is really no defense for them not to. Re: Porter Davis homes 7336May 21, 2013 5:26 pm was never going to take the credit of $1000 to cover 3 wet areas. The construction manager started pulling the shower frames, taps and rails down today to get a move on things, It is a pain but these things happen. The conveyancer doesn't know yet either. We were told about a month ago it should be June. How much notice do they give? Is it one month, or can it be as little as a week or two? Our conveyancer called the vendors solicitors office and they told her when it had gone into the titles office apparently it is 3to 4 weeks in there before the titles are issued (3weeks in our case). We then had 14 days to settle from the date of titles being issued. Hope this helps Re: Porter Davis homes 7339May 21, 2013 8:48 pm Back Pocket inglewood We still have no idea on when our land will title or settle. The conveyancer doesn't know yet either. Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12341 Ask for references and speak to them.
