Can anyone tell me what colours are in cat 1 caesarstone for affinity range? Cheers Check out http://www.caesarstone.com.au/Colours.aspx Pretty much anything that is generally a flat colour is a Cat1... Anything with larger sones or stone shavings in it then its a higher Cat. i.e. 6600 Nougat I can't remember all of them as they do have a big wall of them! Love it. Many similarities to our situation. We currently live in a vic urban estate, aurora. FTTH is great, fast net, no aerials or sat dish. We've paid 1k to PD but are pulling the plug. I'm now tossing up between the Merdian and ascot, both 29 versions. At this stage I'm leaning towards the meridian, only as the bedrooms are bigger and I have 3 young boys, meaning one day I will have 4 men in my house! I will go with similar changes to you, doors on lounge and rumpus Love our colours! The urban caesarstone with white cabinets is what I'm leaning too also So, when do you start? And if they are a upgrade, what cat do they fall in and how much? And if they are a upgrade, what cat do they fall in and how much? Thanks! Yeah it took a bit to decide on what we wanted but we liked the layout of the Ascot and the many different spaces we have around the house. We also thought the bedrooms are small but I guess you wouldn't spend much time in their and better be out socialising rather than be anti social. The rumpus is being converted to our theatre and the lounge to a games room. The activity area will be our study! I'm super excited about it but its on hold right now because our valuation came in really really short so we are working through things right now. Truffle is the replacement for chocolate as Austral has discontinued this line. Truffle is much better as if you do chip the brick it doesn't expose the under colour which has red through it. Truffle is a Cat 1A and I'm pretty sure it was about $900 to upgrade oh and you also want off white mortar too, and that adds about $700. Both these prices are for the ascot 29. I totally forgot to tell you about the VU FTTH sounds great and all but be prepared to be stung. The SC didn't add this into the sales quote but in fact added the wrong FTTH package (NBN Co.) So the prices are different from the quote to the contract. VU require us in our Riverwalk estate to have Data and Phone to Master, Bed1,Bed2, Kitchen and Entertainment area. I don't know why you need phone al over the place, Data i can understand. Anyways this VU RiverWalk Estate minimum was a massive $4K plus the $400 for fitting the FTTH cabinet in the garage. So make sure you check you estate guild lines which i think should be similar to mine. Mumtomonkeys I was in the display office the other day when the sales mgr came in. I am at 30k now (with 3k voucher) and I think I will not go more that another 5k or so... Prbably will use it for Underlay, Locks, Power Surge, Juction Box, Door upgrade, Lights, extra power points. As my house will be smaller, I think the upgrade cost will be a little lower than your quoted price in your block 60k of upgrades wasn't my post - that was walkz187. Ours was about ~40k for extras/costs (after developer guidelines - 10k there!). The largest components being 10k for flooring (cat1 of both) and 10k for site costs. We aimed to keep the extra's fairly low (With the goal of what was best to be warrantied/structural as the priority). Good to hear the blog was helpful - will update with our tender appointment sometime soon as well. These forums are also invaluable. Yes we have done the sarking on the roof and it came in a bit lower than 4k, which was nice. We got the Colorbond 'promo' and doing some research (search homeone) it seemed essential to get it done for the type of roof (condensation, extra barrier, etc) / doing it post build should it arise would be problematic. Its rated as medium duty sarking. Will vary on sizes, but some may be averaged out prices they charge, winning big on some and others an ok profit. Indoor power points are fairly cheap and lower ranges may have less - so definitely go a little nuts on them Vetra43 Also can anybody give me a price estimate for the following Not going to be too helpful here, but will try my best: cavity sliding door to theatre room - not sure, double doors are around $500 however (depending on plastering if its open upgrading sliding door to stackers for alfresco not sure again waterfall edge to kitchen island (oh BTW, do they allow us to change kitchen layout ,say if I want an L shapped island instead of straight one? I wanted more cupboards and not sure what my options are, need to talk to the colour selection lady about this.Have you looked at upgrade packs for waterfall finish? I'm guessing you can manually upgrade - just a matter of cost (like any change & they do it for Affinity range, so definitely something they do) Have you checked out existing cabinetry upgrading all the over head cupboards to alifrost with "slim" panels(like the one shown in T range as displayed package")? Not sure on panel upgrades Home theatre wiring - basic wiring should be enough for projector and surround sound with speakers tiling in lieu of carpet to study and formal lounge 5:1 pre wiring (only) is $575 - however it is just the copper wire in the walls, no termination or face plates, etc. Suggest you investigate the projector aspect. Can be done at a cost/supplier is Argus (but must be done through Carlisle) Xjohnno VU require us in our Riverwalk estate to have Data and Phone to Master, Bed1,Bed2, Kitchen and Entertainment area. Our estate is NBN ready, still got stuck with the 4k pack for 4 outlets - with no requirement for internal wiring at all.. The idea that they try to sell is future proofing, when many devices will need data/VOIP connection ability (i.e. smart TV's everywhere, etc). 4k for 4 outlets of data/phone/tv/paytv is extremely over priced however.. You can push them to split the points to different locations (as much as they don't like to) - i.e. locate phone/data to kitchen (phone + wifi router center location in our case) and leave the two tv points in the family area for TV only. How much does it cost you to upgrade your entry door and garage door? In your blog, there is 3 types of tiled surface (wet areas): Floor, wall & highlights. Carlisle did not state the highlights as standard is this an upgrade? I am also wondering about kitchen range-hood duct, I realise that it is a standard to duct it to roof captivity (1 Story Home only) but I think the smell, oil, etc will stuck in the captivity for a long time right? and isn't it might be a fire hazard for example if you sarking the roof, there will be no air circulation at all? Don't know the cost. Ours was a promo - either colorbond roof or $1,500 worth of down lights/electrical - this was in March. What kind of upgrade to the doors? We went with solid core doors on both garage doors ($150-200 extra depending on size) , front door was a bit of a mix up - go told different things by different Carlisle people so it was included at no cost. Fancier front doors were addition $200 plus at least and went up fast from there. Our wet area walls are one colour of tile, with one column being a feature colour. Both tiles are the same size/identical - just different color & was permitted with no cost or issue (believe the color consultant suggested it). We are affinity range so that may have something to do with it. Floor tiles in the largest (without extra cost). Not sure on the ventilation, there is a whirly bird included (however I believe that will be in the sarking layer - not the roof space itself) - the new houses seem to have ventilation quite differently (no vent holes in walls) - something we should ask about to clarify in regard to range hood. Will let you know if we get an answer. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3756May 20, 2013 10:46 am Our colour browising went on fine this saturday. We are trying to have a look at different bricks etc, I must admit we are really poor in visualizing how these things are going to look on a big picture. Everything looks fine on a small area. Any help? Also people who are building affinity homes, does anybody know what are the different kitchen cupboard options offered as standard? Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3757May 20, 2013 11:21 am Hi I had a quick question for the people who have already built their homes with Carlisle Homes. We have had our first inspection with Carlisle and waiting for them to correct the things we pointed out. We received a call and were told that final inspection and settlement happen on the same day and we would be informed of the date early this week. - Did you guys have final inspection and settlement on the same date? - Based on my discussions with the SS, I got the impression that if he calls me say on Wednesday this week to tell me that everything is ready, I should settle on Friday? Am I being out of place to tell them to give me atleast 5 days of advance notice? I would appreciate your opinion on this. When we got more detailed plans at the color meeting, it showed the design of the cabinetry. An option we elected to, which was free was to convert the microwave prevision to a normal draw. Other than that, any changes/variation will most likely incur cost.
